The ancient peach trees of Da Bac possess unique characteristics, creating a distinct appeal compared to many other peach-growing regions. First and foremost is their long lifespan. Many ancient peach trees in Da Bac are several decades to hundreds of years old, their gnarled, moss-covered trunks bearing the marks of time and the cultural value of the highlands. Another highlight is their natural form. The trees are not artificially pruned but grow according to the hilly terrain, creating unique and unusual shapes such as upright, cascading, dragon descending, and father-son. Each tree is a unique "masterpiece," no two alike, highly valued by peach tree enthusiasts for their rustic, unspoiled beauty.

The ancient peach blossoms of Da Bac typically range in color from pale pink to deep pink, with thick petals that bloom evenly and last a long time, making them suitable for display during the Lunar New Year. The cool climate and large diurnal temperature fluctuations help the flowers last longer, maintaining their vibrant color for an extended period. At Thanh Tu peach orchards, many locals take advantage of their free time during the agricultural off-season to earn extra income for their families. Their daily work focuses on meticulously removing leaves, pruning branches, fertilizing, and stimulating flowering in each peach tree. The orchards aim to provide the market with a diverse range of products in terms of tree shape, flower types, and price segments.
This year, thanks to favorable and warm weather at the end of the year, the quality of peach blossoms is better than in previous years. Currently, Thanh Tu peach garden has over 100 ancient peach trees, and the scale continues to expand to meet market demand during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse. Mr. Tran Thien Tu, owner of Thanh Tu peach orchard, shared that the most important step determining the value of a peach tree is pruning, shaping, and regulating the tree to bloom at the right time, under ideal temperature conditions of around 20 degrees Celsius. Leaf removal is done about 60 days before the Lunar New Year. This process requires great care and patience to concentrate nutrients on the buds, ensuring the flowers bloom at the right time.
