Rare century-old peach blossom tree, rented for 120 million VND at Tet flower market.

At the flower market on Lac Long Quan Street (Hanoi) during the Lunar New Year season, a strikingly beautiful peach blossom tree is being rented out by vendors for 120 million VND.

On the morning of February 7th, at the flower market on Lac Long Quan Street (Tay Ho Ward, Hanoi ), vendors were busy displaying flowers and ornamental plants for Tet (Lunar New Year). Notably, an ancient peach tree was offered for rent at a price of 120 million VND.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan (50 years old), owner of Minh Tuan peach garden (Nhat Tan), said that the peach tree named Ngu Phuc Quan Thu was brought from the Dien Bien forest and then grafted with a branch of pink peach blossom. The tree has been nurtured for over 50 years, notable for its three main trunks with a diameter of about 35-40 cm, their surfaces rough and bearing many scars from time. The bark is grayish-brown, interspersed with green moss.

According to Tri Thức - Znews , this million-dollar peach tree has a trunk circumference of 240 cm, a height of up to 3.4 meters including the pot, planted in a pot of about 3 m², covered in moss, with rough bark, and a canopy spreading about 5 meters.

"The trees that are rented for hundreds of millions of dong are usually reserved by regular customers before Tet every year. But close to the delivery date, customers change their minds and want to switch to a different type of tree, so new trees appear at the market. The trees I rent out until the 19th of January have to be transported back to the garden to be cared for for the new season," Mr. Tuan shared.

The roots and trunk of this centuries-old peach tree are intertwined, creating a sturdy structure. On its canopy, the peach blossoms are in full bloom, their thick petals covering the branches in a striking deep pink. The branches simultaneously burst into dense bloom, while the tree still has many buds, promising to display its beauty throughout the Tet holiday.

Also at the flower market on Lac Long Quan Street, a peach blossom tree with a leaning shape was prominently displayed, attracting the attention of passersby. Many people stopped to take photos and check in next to the peach blossom tree, which is worth hundreds of millions of dong.

Ms. Vu Thi Nhung (43 years old, Thanh Xuan district) said she was surprised to see a peach tree with an unusually tilted shape in the flower market. “Initially, I just thought the tree was beautiful and unique, so I stopped to admire it. When I heard that the rental price was up to 100 million VND, I was even more impressed and had to take a few pictures as a souvenir for Tet,” Ms. Nhung said.

From an angled view, the base of the peach tree reveals its exposed, winding root system, creating a sense of stability and antiquity. Such centuries-old peach trees are now very rare on the market, and most have been pre-ordered by customers months in advance.

Besides the ancient peach blossom trees that can cost hundreds of millions of dong to rent, the flower market also sells many smaller peach blossom trees, about 3 meters tall, with a common rental price of 5-10 million dong. In addition, smaller, more compact peach blossom branches are also offered at more affordable prices, suitable for the Tet holiday needs of many families.
