There are days when, at noon, the commune's People's Committee office is quiet, but Mr. Ngo Thanh Hung's office remains brightly lit. He diligently flips through files, taking advantage of the time to complete unfinished tasks. This tireless work ethic is a vivid testament to learning from and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, even in the simplest things.

For over 28 years, prior to the merger, Mr. Ngo Thanh Hung dedicated himself to the political system, holding various positions and roles, from Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the People's Committee of Dinh An commune; Deputy Head of the Inspection Committee of Go Quao District Party Committee; Head of the Internal Affairs Department of Go Quao district, to Secretary of the Party Committee of Dinh An commune. In every position, he used Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style as a benchmark for self-reflection and action, viewing each assigned task as an opportunity to self-improve and perfect himself.
During his tenure as Head of the Internal Affairs Department of Go Quao District, he consistently achieved outstanding results for five consecutive years. However, his spirit of daring to think and act truly left its mark when he directly led and brought about comprehensive development and transformation in Dinh An commune. Recalling those early days of taking on the role in the commune, filled with countless concerns, Mr. Ngo Thanh Hung said: “Dinh An back then had a very low starting point, lacking infrastructure, and the lives of the Khmer people were still very difficult. At that time, I understood that if the leader was not decisive and did not ponder and seek new directions, the locality would find it very difficult to transform.”
With his approachable and grassroots-oriented style, he and the leadership team of Dinh An commune gradually resolved bottlenecks. Recognizing agriculture as the foundation, he intensified his leadership and proposed breakthrough solutions for rural economic development. The effective implementation of the 1 million hectare high-quality rice monoculture project fundamentally transformed the face of a purely agricultural area, significantly increasing people's income.
The merger of Dinh Hoa, Thuy Lieu, and Thoi Quan communes into the new Dinh Hoa commune, effective July 1, 2025, marks a historic turning point in the policy of streamlining the administrative apparatus, but also presents numerous challenges for local officials. The expanded area, encompassing 30 hamlets and 11,575 households, with ethnic minorities accounting for over 51% of the population, along with differences in customs and ideologies across regions, demands comprehensive changes, especially in the context of a complete restructuring of the personnel system.
As the newly elected Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune, Mr. Hung is deeply aware of his responsibilities. The most difficult challenge after the merger is not the administrative procedures, but rather how to gain the people's consensus, ensure the smooth operation of the new system, and protect the people's rights. To realize this goal, he and the Standing Committee of the commune's Party Committee focused on stabilizing the morale of officials, arranging personnel according to the principle of "the right person for the right job," and promoting direct dialogue to listen to the people's thoughts and aspirations. "I am always deeply aware that a leader's bold and decisive decision is only truly correct when it receives the unanimous support of the people," Mr. Hung said.
Imbued with President Ho Chi Minh's teachings on the role of setting an example, Mr. Hung inspired the collective spirit of daring to think and act through concrete actions. He pioneered and took on difficult and new tasks to build trust among his subordinates; he fostered an open work environment, always listening to the opinions of his colleagues. Through a supportive mindset and timely encouragement, Mr. Hung transformed work pressure into motivation for dedication, helping his subordinates confidently overcome difficulties and strive to successfully complete their assigned tasks.
Nearly a year after the commune merger, despite facing considerable pressure, the leadership and leadership of the head of the commune have been clearly demonstrated. Working closely with the Party Committee and the People's Committee, Mr. Hung has shown decisiveness and thoroughness in his leadership, gradually bringing the new administrative apparatus to a stable and smooth operation. From establishing organizational order and personnel arrangements to defining key areas for socio-economic development, he has consistently demonstrated innovative thinking, decisiveness, and a spirit of daring to think, act, and take responsibility for the common good of the people.
In 2025, facing significant pressure from 17 assigned socio-economic targets, Mr. Hung, along with the leadership team of the Commune People's Committee, leveraged the strength of national unity, achieving and exceeding most targets, creating a solid foundation for further development. Recognizing his outstanding contributions in 2025, Mr. Hung was assessed by the Provincial Party Committee as an outstanding cadre and Party member; the Provincial People's Committee commended and rewarded him for his achievements in ensuring security and order.
