DBP - In recent times, the Women's Union at all levels of Dien Bien province has been strongly promoting its core role in gathering and mobilizing women to participate in emulation movements. With the spirit of innovation and creativity, the union at all levels has implemented many practical activities such as supporting women in economic development, participating in environmental protection and building new rural areas; making important contributions to the overall development of the province.

Local women's union members actively improve rural roads.

Thanks to the industrious, skillful hands and sense of responsibility of the women's union members, colorful flower roads and cool green fences have been appearing more and more in villages and hamlets throughout Dien Bien province. Roads that were previously dry and dusty have now become lively and fresh, creating a green - clean - beautiful landscape, contributing to changing the face of the countryside. Not only stopping at planting flowers and taking care of trees, women's union members also actively responded to the Campaign "Building a family of 5 no, 5 clean", joining hands to keep the environment clean according to the motto "Clean house - clean alley", associated with many specific tasks such as sweeping village roads, alleys, clearing bushes, collecting garbage, making the face of the countryside more and more spacious, bright - green - clean - beautiful.

Ms. Lo Thi Thanh, Women's Union of Muong Luan commune shared: "Over the years, women in the commune have always actively responded to emulation movements, especially in building new rural areas and protecting the environment. Each member has promoted the spirit of responsibility, proactively participated in planting flowers, cleaning village roads and alleys, sorting waste, and building sanitary works that meet standards. The cooperation and contribution of women have contributed to changing the appearance of the village...".

Implementing the National Target Programs and projects and movements of the Central, the province and the Vietnam Women's Union, the Women's Unions at all levels in the province have actively and flexibly concretized the emulation movement "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas". Many activities are associated with the Union's major movements such as "Building a family of 5 no, 3 clean", or "Each rural member household has a clean vegetable garden and raises at least 10 poultry, 1 livestock or more". These models not only help improve income, stabilize life but also promote self-reliance and self-reliance in each female member. In addition, many creative models, suitable to the specific conditions of each locality, have been effectively implemented such as "Collecting recyclable waste to raise funds", "Clean house, beautiful gate, green garden", "Turning waste into money"...

In the period of 2020 - 2025, the Association at all levels in the province organized more than 1,000 propaganda sessions, attracting over 44,000 participants; 113 communication and pre-marital education classes for more than 12,200 people. Notably, 100% of cadre and member households have registered to implement the criteria of "5 no, 3 clean" or "5 yes, 3 clean" in communes building advanced new rural areas, contributing significantly to positive and sustainable changes in rural life.

Women's Unions at all levels actively mobilize members to clean up the environment and build new rural areas.

Promoting the role of accompanying women in economic development, in recent times, the Provincial Women's Union at all levels has actively created conditions for members to access many preferential loan sources, helping women have the opportunity to escape poverty and become rich legitimately. By April 30, 2025, the total outstanding debt managed by the Union reached over 1,294 billion VND, supporting nearly 19,000 members to borrow capital to develop production and business. In addition, the savings amount among members reached 22.5 billion VND with more than 19,800 members participating; the Provincial Women's Development Support Fund disbursed more than 4.7 billion VND to 328 members; the internal savings movement reached over 17 billion VND. These results clearly demonstrate the role, responsibility and efforts of the Union at all levels in accompanying and supporting women in sustainable economic development, contributing to building new rural areas and effectively reducing poverty.

Ms. Luong Thi Thanh, President of the Women's Union of Bung Lao commune, said: In order to support members in economic development, in recent years, the Women's Union of the commune has done a good job of propaganda and received entrustment from the Social Policy Bank to help members have loans for economic development. We coordinate to open training courses to transfer science and technology to increase the efficiency of loan capital. From there, we promptly promote the effectiveness of preferential loans to support poor and near-poor women to have conditions to rise up, making an important contribution to the successful implementation of socio-economic development targets.

Along with that, humanitarian and charity work has always been of interest and effectively implemented by the Association at all levels. In the past time, the Association has mobilized nearly 15.5 billion VND to support women and children in difficult circumstances; built 53 "Shelters of Love", 2 schools and implemented the "Godmother" Program with 273 orphans receiving regular care and support. This program continues to be maintained sustainably, demonstrating the spirit of sharing and humanity of the Association at all levels. In addition, the Association has built 20 more shelters of love, implemented 18 livelihood models to support 65 poor women members, and presented more than 1,419 gifts to women and children in especially difficult circumstances in border communes, contributing to spreading profound humane values ​​in the community.

The Women's Union cares about and looks after the lives of members in disaster areas and promotes charitable activities.

In particular, in the face of the severe flood situation in early August 2025, the Provincial Women's Union quickly established a working group to directly visit, encourage and give gifts to support members, women and children affected by flash floods and landslides; many of whom are being treated at medical facilities. At the same time, the Union launched the movement "Dien Bien Women join hands to overcome the consequences of floods" directing grassroots unions at all levels to review the damage, implement the "4 on-site" motto, coordinate with the government and functional forces in relief work, overcome the consequences, helping people to soon stabilize their lives.

Ms. Po Dieu Ninh, Vice President of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union, emphasized: The Associations at all levels not only play a good role in representing and taking care of women's rights but also actively accompany the government, sectors and social organizations in supporting women and children in difficult circumstances, especially in border areas and areas affected by natural disasters. In the coming time, the Association will continue to promote the spirit of initiative and creativity, mobilize maximum social resources, contribute to building Dien Bien to develop sustainably, with love and humanity.

In the period of 2020 - 2025, the Provincial Women's Union at all levels has achieved many outstanding achievements, affirming its core role in the women's movement and gender equality work. The whole province has 568 collectives and individuals being commended, of which many units and individuals were honored to receive Certificates of Merit from the Central Union, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Women's Union. In particular, the Provincial Women's Union has been continuously recognized with noble titles: Excellent Emulation Flag in 2021, 2022; Third-class Labor Medal in 2023 and Leading Flag in 2024. From 2021 to 2024, the Union has received Certificates of Merit from the Central Vietnam Women's Union and the Provincial People's Committee. These awards are a worthy recognition of the efforts, dedication and sense of responsibility of the Union at all levels, contributing to building an increasingly strong Union organization, spreading the good values ​​of Dien Bien women.
