Arriving at the Construction Planning Department on an early summer day, even though it was almost lunchtime, we still saw the enthusiastic and serious working atmosphere of the officers and staff. On a simple table in the middle of the shared office, the head of the department and young officers were attentively listening to a report on the upcoming key construction project. Seeing visitors, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Son, Head of the Construction Planning Department, signaled for his colleagues to pause and then introduced us to the project the unit is undertaking, highlighting its special significance and importance in the field of national defense.

Sharing about the enormous workload, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Son said that in 2025 and early 2026 alone, the Construction Planning Department advised, organized, monitored, guided, and inspected the construction of 9 projects and project components; including 4 projects carried over from 2024 and 5 new projects implemented according to plan. The workload is large, the requirements are high, and there are many unexpected tasks, but the officers and staff of the Department always proactively and responsibly coordinate closely with agencies and units to successfully complete their tasks.

In fact, on the construction sites of the 28th Brigade, the mark of the Construction Planning Department is always present from the surveying and planning stages to the organization of implementation, inspection, and completion of procedural documents. This proactive, decisive, and scientific approach has contributed to the timely completion of many of the Brigade's projects, ensuring quality, absolute safety, and meeting the requirements of the Air Force in the new situation.

Captain Nguyen Tuan Minh, Assistant Construction Planning Officer, shared that for each officer in the Department, staying at the construction site for months on end, or sometimes working through holidays to complete documents, adjust plans, and ensure that projects are implemented synchronously and according to technical requirements, has become commonplace. Despite the high pressure of the work, everyone is very dedicated and always prioritizes progress and quality.

Not only has the unit excelled in its professional duties, but it has also proactively coordinated with other units to carry out many tasks of significant political importance, such as organizing the paving of tracks for mobile tanks during the "North-South Promise" program at My Dinh National Stadium; participating in the acceptance and handover of key combat projects C31 for agencies of the Ministry of National Defense , the Air Force, and the Engineering Corps, which were highly appreciated by relevant agencies. The unit also serves as the permanent advisory body to the Brigade commander in coordinating with local authorities to overcome difficulties and expedite land clearance, creating favorable conditions for project implementation. These achievements have contributed to the 28th Engineering Brigade's consistently excellent performance for many years, affirming its prestige in carrying out national defense construction projects, military airfields, and other assigned emergency tasks, worthy of the heroic unit's tradition.
