The project has a total investment of 79.6 billion VND from the provincial budget, with the Vinh Long Provincial Traffic Project Management Board as the investor.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Vinh Long Provincial Transport Project Management Board Truong Cong Minh Thien said that Dan Thanh Inland Waterway Wharf serves important travel, transit, and cargo transportation for Duyen Hai Ward and neighboring areas. In particular, the project establishes a direct waterway connection between Vinh Long Province and Con Dao (Ho Chi Minh City), contributing to the development of local tourism; creating a driving force to promote socio -economic development, improve trade capacity and effectively exploit the economic and tourism potential of Vinh Long coastal area.
The project items include the inland waterway terminal (dock) with a length of 86 m, a bridge width of 10 m; an operation and management area, a waiting room, providing logistics services... with a total area of about 6,200 m2. The access road is nearly 770 m long, the roadbed width is 7.5 m; the road surface width is 5.5 m; the sidewalk width is 2x1 m, the road surface structure is made of cement concrete. In addition, the project also has auxiliary works such as power supply system, water supply, drainage, trees, lighting...
According to the plan, the project will be completed in July 2026. The investor's representative pledged to closely coordinate with the construction unit and supervision consultant, focusing on ensuring quality, technique, aesthetics, progress and labor safety; regularly inspect and urge progress, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles to soon put the project into operation, serve the local socio-economic development and contribute to the successful implementation of the goal of developing traffic infrastructure of Vinh Long province in the new period.
Mr. Duong Van Trieu, Secretary of the Duyen Hai Ward Party Committee, was pleased and expressed his hope that the project would become an important bridge, connecting Vinh Long with localities in the Mekong Delta region. This is also a strategic project for developing the marine economy of Dinh An Economic Zone, creating a driving force to promote sustainable local socio-economic development; at the same time meeting the requirements of national defense and security in the area.
