Investing nearly 33,000 billion VND in the route connecting Gia Binh airport with the capital

The Hanoi People's Council approved the investment policy for a road worth more than VND32,970 billion connecting Gia Binh airport with the capital to create a modern traffic axis, opening up new development space in the area north of the Red River.

On the afternoon of November 13, at the thematic session (27th session) of the Hanoi People's Council, term XVI, 2021-2026, passed a Resolution approving the investment policy of the Project to invest in building a road connecting Gia Binh airport with Hanoi capital under the public-private partnership (PPP) method, Build-Transfer (BT) contract type.

The project has a total preliminary investment of about more than 32,970 billion VND; expected PPP contract type: Build-Transfer (BT) contract, with land fund payment to investors; expected construction time of works and infrastructure system 2025-2026. The project is proposed by Sun Group Joint Stock Company.

The preliminary payment method includes 3 research land plots with an area of ​​about 723.3 hectares in Phu Dong and Thuan An communes (Hanoi).

The investment project to build a road connecting Gia Binh airport with Hanoi capital is implemented in the communes of Thuan An, Phu Dong, Thu Lam, Dong Anh (Hanoi city); Tu Son ward, Phu Khe ward (Bac Ninh province).

According to the project's planned scale, the new route has a length of 7km, cross-section B=120m. The starting point connects to the route in Bac Ninh province at the location adjacent to the administrative boundary of Bac Ninh province; the end point is at the intersection with Hanoi-Ha Long Expressway and Hanoi- Thai Nguyen Expressway/Ring Road 3.

The section coinciding with the Hanoi-Thai Nguyen/Ring 3 Expressway is approximately 6.55km long, with investment to expand and ensure a cross-section of B=120m. The starting point connects Section 1; the end point is at the intersection with the road connecting Tu Lien Bridge at the intersection area: Tu Lien Bridge approach road, Ring 3 and Hanoi-Thai Nguyen Expressway.

The branch connecting from Hanoi-Thai Nguyen Expressway/Ring 3 with Tu Lien Bridge approach road will build 2 connecting branches to serve the left turn directly from Gia Binh to Tu Lien Bridge (overpass over Hanoi-Thai Nguyen Expressway/Ring 3) and the right turn from Tu Lien Bridge to Gia Binh. The scale of each branch is expected to have 03 lanes with width B=14m; the length of the connecting branch is about 2.5km.

The investment project to build a route connecting Gia Binh Airport with Hanoi Capital creates the shortest, most modern, and most beautiful connecting axis, opening up new development space to promote socio-economic development, effectively exploiting modern and smart logistics areas, combining e-commerce, meeting development requirements.

In addition, the project, combined with Gia Binh airport, contributes to reducing the load on Noi Bai airport, enhancing the connection of Hanoi capital, the national political-administrative center, the center of culture, education, science, technology, international economic transactions of the whole country and ensuring the operation of special flights serving the leaders of the Party, State and international diplomacy.../.
