Reporting at the conference, Colonel Le Van Huong, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Navy, informed about some outstanding results in the implementation of military and defense tasks and propaganda coordination work in 2024; directions, key tasks, and orientations for some propaganda-focused contents in 2025.
Over the past year, the Navy has mobilized 15,000 officers and soldiers with over 450 vehicles to participate in 205 rescue operations, saving 280 people and 20 vehicles at sea; helping the authorities and people of the northern provinces prevent and overcome the consequences of storm No. 3; supporting people affected by saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta with thousands of cubic meters of fresh water and over 200 water storage devices.
The regional naval forces have promptly disseminated and chased away over 150,000 foreign fishing vessels that violated our waters; done a good job of communicating and mobilizing fishermen, monitoring, preventing and minimizing the situation of our fishing vessels illegally exploiting seafood in the seas.
According to Colonel Le Van Huong, agencies and units in the Navy continued to closely coordinate with 63 provinces and cities and 16 central agencies and press agencies to successfully organize a conference to review the 5-year program of coordinating propaganda on seas and islands for the period 2019 - 2024; successfully organized 30 ships and planes to welcome more than 5,000 delegates to visit and inspect the Truong Sa archipelago, DK1 platform and the island route in the Southwest sea.
Regarding propaganda cooperation, in 2025, the Navy coordinated with 250 news agencies and newspapers, welcoming 1,600 reporters to visit the units. More than 32,000 news, articles, reports... on the Navy's activities were published, thereby comprehensively reflecting the results of the implementation of military , defense, defense foreign affairs tasks and outstanding events of the Navy.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Bong acknowledged the attention and leadership of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, ministries and functional agencies, and the support of leaders of news agencies and newspapers for the propaganda work of the Navy in the past time. Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Bong hopes that in the coming time, the Navy will continue to coordinate with news agencies and newspapers to make information and propaganda work more oriented and effective.
On this occasion, the Navy awarded certificates of merit to 25 collectives and 34 individuals from many press agencies for their outstanding achievements in coordinating propaganda on military and defense tasks and activities of the Navy in 2024.
