On May 5, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Tour Guides Association (VTGA) in collaboration with the Tourism Information Center (General Department of Tourism) and the Vietnam Community Tourism Association (VCTC) held a conference to introduce the "National Tourism Card" under the Vietnam Card - One National Card Program.

Mr. Hoang Quoc Hoa, Deputy Executive Director of the Tourism Information Center, shared: There are 3 key products in the national digital transformation program to promote the digitalization of the tourism industry. These are the National Tourism Card (physical card and digital card); the National Tourism Application "Vietnam Tourism - Vietnam Travel" and the "Tourism Management and Business" Platform. The products are widely used in the tourism community in Vietnam, including tourism service businesses, tour guides; domestic and foreign tourists.

The national digital transformation key program is of particular importance in forming digital platforms at the national level; putting them into practical application to contribute to improving the tourism experience of tourists in Vietnam. The program supports optimal operations for the tourism business and management team; encourages creativity in applying digital technology to support tourism development, arouses the passion for startups, and pride in products made by Vietnamese people.

The National Tourism Card is a strategic product in the smart tourism ecosystem in Vietnam, including physical cards and digital cards. The National Tourism Card is used in the tourism sector, connecting with utilities in many other related fields such as healthcare, education, transportation, e-commerce and residential utilities. This solution helps to form and promote new habits in tourism - "cashless payment", saving time, effort, increasing experience and convenience for travel lovers in Vietnam. This solution contributes to raising public awareness of "green tourism", protecting the environment in tourist areas and destinations, towards sustainable tourism development.

The National Tourism Application “Vietnam Travel” is for domestic and foreign tourists when traveling in Vietnam, providing comprehensive support for searching for tourism information, looking up travel agencies, accommodation facilities, tour guides, booking rooms, booking tickets, making electronic payments, managing tours, reporting to authorities, etc. Currently, the National Tourism Card (digital card) has been integrated synchronously on the National Tourism Application “Vietnam Travel”, which is a breakthrough, creating a digital tool to comprehensively support tourists in tourism activities, connecting with other related services.

The “Tourism Management and Business” platform is identified as one of 35 national digital platforms that need to be prioritized for development. This is a digital environment that connects tourism service businesses, travel agencies, tour guides and management agencies. This platform is widely deployed nationwide, helping to optimize management and tourism development based on digital data, developing the digital tourism economy of each locality and country. This platform has features such as one-touch electronic payment, room management at accommodation establishments, promotions, sales, loyalty customers, multimedia guides, etc.

At the program, participants will be supported to open a free card, guided to use and experience the card's features and application ecosystem. In addition, travel agencies and tour guides will be shared details about commission policies, business methods and tourism management through the digital utility system of the National Tourism Card.

With the support of technology, the Vietnamese tourism industry is expected to go further in the digital transformation roadmap, helping to improve the experience for tourists, maintain the number of regular tourists, and attract new tourists. Business units will optimize operating costs, increase efficiency and exploitation efficiency; helping the tourism industry accelerate recovery and sustainable development in the coming time./.
