Mr. Phan Cong Bang, Head of MAUR, said that the relocation and reconstruction of technical infrastructure of metro line 2 includes items such as electricity supply, water supply, drainage, lighting, trees, signs and traffic lights at 9 underground stations and 1 elevated station.
The implementation was carried out in narrow urban conditions, with heavy traffic on Cach Mang Thang Tam and Truong Chinh streets. The interweaving of many items managed by different units made coordination and handling of underground technical conflicts quite difficult.
To date, the basic problems have been resolved, the cumulative construction volume has reached about 70%. Currently, the project is mobilizing 11 construction teams, striving to complete the relocation of technical infrastructure by the end of 2025.
In order to speed up Metro Line 2, MAUR has launched a 60-day and night peak emulation movement, with the theme "Determination to speed up, double productivity", striving to complete the key tasks of Metro Line 2 project (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong) in 2025.
The movement's core objective is to accelerate the completion of project adjustments and prepare procedures to start construction of metro line 2 in 2025, an important milestone in the development strategy of Ho Chi Minh City's urban railway system.
MAUR requires its departments and divisions to enhance the role and responsibility of their leaders, and implement the “6 clear” motto: clear people, clear work, clear time, clear products, clear responsibilities, and clear authority. Every task must be specifically assigned and closely monitored to ensure progress, quality, safety, and efficiency.
Metro line No. 2 (Ben Thanh - Tham Luong) is more than 11km long, including 9 underground stations and 1 elevated station, connecting directly with metro line No. 1 at Ben Thanh station.
The project was approved in 2010 with an initial plan to operate in 2026, but the completion time has been adjusted to 2030. The total investment capital of the project is 47,890 billion VND.
