On May 14, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, worked with Mai Son district on solutions to implement compensation and site clearance for the Na San irrigation canal system project.
The Na San irrigation canal system project has a total length of 44.5km, with an area of about 10 hectares of land recovered in 19 villages, belonging to 2 communes of Chieng Mung and Hat Lot, with 758 households affected.
Up to now, the survey and land acquisition map for the project have been completed and approved. The design and positioning of 1,647 stakes have been carried out; 1,532/1,647 markers have been placed, reaching 93% of the workload; the remaining number, some households did not allow markers to be placed on their family land, due to the adjustment of the clearance scope. The work of inventorying and counting assets, trees, and crops on the land has been completed.
However, the project progress is behind schedule due to problems in verifying land origin, establishing, appraising and approving compensation and site clearance plans. To date, only 143/758 households have approved compensation and site clearance plans and about 4.3/44.5km have been handed over.
Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong requested relevant departments, branches and Mai Son district to resolutely implement site clearance, organize construction, and ensure progress according to the contract signed before June 30. For Mai Son district, focus on verifying land origin, land type, land users, and land loss rate. At the same time, transfer the records of households that have completed site clearance procedures to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment for appraisal to proceed with compensation payment. Conduct a review of the entire route and adjusted locations according to the provisions of law, ensuring that no complaints or lawsuits occur...
