Speeding up progress, opening traffic on Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway on December 19

Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Viet Hung inspected the area of tunnel item number 3.

The Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Expressway component project has a total length of 88km, of which the section passing through Quang Ngai province is more than 60km, and Gia Lai province is 27.7km. The project has a total investment capital of more than VND20,469 billion.

Up to now, the entire site clearance work for the main route has been basically completed, but there are still about 4.28 hectares in the communes of Dinh Cuong, Lan Phong, Nguyen Nghiem, Khanh Cuong and Duc Pho ward that have not been handed over.

The contractors have now completed about 88.5% of the contract value. The road and bridge items are basically complete; tunnels 1 and 2 have completed all construction; tunnel 3 has reached 100% of the excavation and reinforcement volume, is implementing 84% of the tunnel shell concrete and 50% of the road surface...

Contractors aim to complete the remaining work in November 2025, striving to technically open the entire route in December 2025.

Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Viet Hung said that the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway is one of the key projects in the 3,000km expressway network that the Prime Minister directed to be completed and inaugurated on December 19.

Through inspection, the major problems of the project have been resolved by the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province in coordination with the investor, currently only two small points are being continued to be handled.

The Deputy Minister requested the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province and relevant units to strengthen propaganda and mobilize people not to obstruct construction, and at the same time review and re-evaluate compensation and support cases to ensure people's rights and project progress.

According to the Deputy Minister, the Ministry of Construction has continuously issued telegrams and directives, and assigned staff to regularly inspect and supervise progress at the construction site. Contractors are required to work in 3 shifts and 4 teams, ensuring both progress and quality of the project. The State Acceptance Council will carefully inspect and evaluate each item before the project is put into operation.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Viet Hung emphasized that Quang Ngai province and its units need to continue to closely coordinate, explain, receive people, carefully consider compensation if it is in accordance with regulations, and at the same time mobilize people not to obstruct the construction of key national projects, so that the project can be completed and opened to traffic on schedule according to the direction of the Prime Minister.
