The flight carrying the Vietnamese women's team from Ho Chi Minh City to Thailand departed at 8:40 a.m. on December 2. However, from 4:20 a.m., the entire team had to get up to clean themselves and prepare their luggage to be put on the bus at 5:00 a.m.
At 5:30, the Vietnamese women's team departed for Tan Son Nhat airport. Breakfast for the team was also carefully prepared for the players to eat at the airport after completing security procedures.
Although it was hard to avoid feeling sleepy, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team flew to Thailand with great confidence for their journey to defend the championship.
The Vietnamese women's team holds the record of 8 SEA Games gold medals (Thailand only 5 times), including a record of 4 consecutive times from 2017 until now.

Despite facing a lot of challenges at SEA Games 33, especially being in Group B with two championship candidates, the Philippines and Myanmar, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team are still confident that they will successfully defend their title, thereby extending the record for Vietnamese women's football.
Speaking before departure, coach Mai Duc Chung said he was used to the pressure at each SEA Games.
Therefore, despite facing significant challenges from the Philippines with its naturalized players or the return of Myanmar, he and the Vietnamese women's team will still strive to win the gold medal.
According to the plan, the Vietnamese women's team will arrive in Bangkok at 10:40 am on December 2. After completing immigration procedures, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will travel for more than an hour to Chonburi, the venue for the 33rd SEA Games women's football event.
On the first day of arriving in Thailand, Huynh Nhu and the Vietnamese women's team are scheduled to have a practice session at 6 p.m. At the 33rd SEA Games, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team are in Group B and will face Malaysia (December 5), the Philippines (December 8) and Myanmar (December 11) to compete for a ticket to the semi-finals.
