Sustainable development is a key strategic pillar throughout De Heus's operations.

De Heus's nearly two-decade journey in the Vietnamese market (since 2008) has not simply been about expanding its production system or increasing revenue, but rather a roadmap for sustainable development, closely linked to producing high-quality animal feed, ensuring food safety, building clean raw material areas, increasing farmers' income, and expanding export markets according to international standards.

De Heus Royal Group (Netherlands) is one of the leading groups in the animal feed industry for livestock, poultry, and aquaculture, with over 110 years of experience in animal nutrition and 89 modern factories worldwide, exporting products to more than 75 countries . The factories are equipped with advanced automated production lines and are supervised by experienced experts from the Group.

From its early days operating in Vietnam, De Heus has identified sustainable development as the guiding principle for all its strategic decisions. De Heus has been translating this commitment into practical, sustainable steps, aligning with global trends in safe, responsible, and transparent agricultural production. Based on this foundation, the company not only focuses on economic efficiency but also prioritizes environmental, social, and community responsibility standards.

With the overarching theme of "Nourishing Future Generations," De Heus Vietnam is committed to pursuing numerous long-term community projects aimed at bringing sustainable value to people and localities across the country: the "Fit for School" program, supporting school canteens and improving the quality of meals for students in disadvantaged areas; the project to enhance maize cultivation capacity in the Central Highlands, providing advanced farming techniques and supporting farmers in building a stable and high-quality domestic maize supply; and accompanying livestock farmers after natural disasters, supporting the reconstruction of their lives and helping them quickly return to stable production and livestock farming.

In particular, De Heus has implemented a carbon emission reduction roadmap in line with the Group's global targets, expanding the application of green energy such as solar power systems at its production facilities, and transforming internal operations to reduce both direct and indirect emissions.

While many businesses are still struggling to find a path in sustainable agriculture , De Heus has proactively set long-term goals, aiming for cleaner production and contributing to Vietnam's green development goals.

De Heus' sustainable development strategy is not limited to animal feed production; it is also reflected in its value-added chains, from raw materials to final products, while simultaneously protecting the environment, maintaining ecological balance, and enhancing social responsibility.

De Heus invests heavily in animal nutrition research, strictly controls raw materials, and screens and eliminates potentially harmful ingredients, thereby ensuring food safety right from the production stage. With a modern research, development, and production system, the company has created high-quality feed products suitable for each type of livestock, optimizing nutrition and farm health.

De Heus has developed a diverse range of aquaculture feed products that support growth, improve immunity, and optimize farming efficiency, helping farmers reduce costs and disease risks. In particular, these product lines all meet the ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) standard – an international certification for environmental responsibility and traceability in the aquaculture sector.

The raw material and product management process adheres to international standards, not only meeting domestic consumer needs but also complying with the stringent requirements of export markets such as the EU, the US, and Japan. From there, the enterprise not only promotes livestock, poultry, and aquaculture farming but also contributes to the long-term goal of providing safe, transparent, and high-quality food for Vietnamese and international consumers.

To realize its strategy of developing a sustainable agricultural value chain, De Heus is building an ecosystem of brands that contribute to perfecting the input-to-output linkage model of the livestock industry.

Within this ecosystem, the genetics division focuses on developing high-quality pig breeding stock from Topigs Norsvin – a global leader in genetics – along with Bel Gà chicken and Orvia duck breeds, ensuring superior breeding stock suitable for Vietnamese farming conditions. De Heus' Premix product lines provide specialized nutritional solutions, contributing to optimized productivity and farming efficiency; Truoo Pet Care develops the premium pet food segment; and Green Chicken is a slaughtering, processing, and export company specializing in clean, Halal-certified chicken meat, completing the output chain.

Simultaneously, De Heus collaborates closely with state management agencies and local authorities, and partners with major corporations such as Hung Nhon – a leading agricultural group with strengths in high-tech livestock farming, and Minh Phu – a leading seafood company in Vietnam, pioneering in sustainable shrimp farming, processing, and export. Through this, De Heus is gradually forming a closed, sustainable, and long-term competitive value chain for Vietnam's livestock industry.

An integral part of this plan is the establishment of clean raw material zones for animal feed and high-tech livestock farming, where conditions such as chemical residues, contaminants, and traceability are strictly controlled. These models not only ensure the quality of raw materials but also enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese export products.

Currently, De Heus continues to expand its recirculating aquaculture models with RAS-IMTA technology, which helps reduce emissions, limit environmental pollution, and build clean raw material areas that comply with ASC and BAP (Best Aquaculture Practices) standards for the high-end export market.

A journey towards the world, enhancing Vietnam's reputation on the global agricultural product map.

Beyond just production, De Heus aims to improve the lives and incomes of livestock and aquaculture farmers – a key force in the agricultural value chain.

Through technology transfer programs, intensive training, and direct on-farm support, De Heus helps farmers apply advanced scientific and technical methods to their livestock farming practices. This contributes to optimizing costs, improving survival rates and productivity, and ultimately increasing farmers' income.

In particular, strategic cooperation with major Vietnamese businesses in the sustainable shrimp farming chain helps expand the market for farmers' aquaculture products, targeting export markets that demand high standards of quality and traceability. In recent years, De Heus has not only acted as a simple "feed supplier" but has also become a strategic partner helping Vietnam establish a sustainable, transparent, and internationally competitive agricultural value chain.

Mr. Johan van den Ban, General Director of De Heus Asia and Vietnam, stated that De Heus' strategy in Vietnam, Asia, and globally is to continue its strong and sustainable growth. Collaboration with partners contributes to creating positive value and aims to expand into international markets, particularly in the seafood sector – a key part of a development strategy to diversify product lines and adapt to global trends.

Through the application of international standards, from ASC to traceability and food safety criteria, products involving De Heus are increasingly widely accepted in high-end export markets such as the EU, the US, and Japan. This not only marks De Heus's success but also contributes to promoting the image of Vietnamese agricultural products as high-quality, safe, and reliable in the eyes of international partners.

During its nearly two-decade journey in Vietnam, De Heus has left a profound mark, not only through growth figures but also through the tangible value it delivers to Vietnamese farmers, communities, and agriculture.

By consistently pursuing a sustainable development path in animal feed production, building clean raw material areas, increasing farmers' income, and aiming for the global export market, De Heus has demonstrated that a business development model coupled with social responsibility and environmental protection can be entirely successful.

In the spirit of the new Spring of the Year of the Horse 2026, De Heus not only provides production resources but also conveys a message about a modern, safe, and sustainable Vietnamese agriculture, ready to integrate into the new era.
