Requesting China and Philippines to assist Vietnamese ships to avoid super typhoon Yagi

(VTC News) - In the face of super typhoon Yagi making landfall, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has asked authorities in China and the Philippines to coordinate in supporting Vietnamese vessels when necessary.
On September 5, in response to a reporter's question requesting information on the coordination of work to protect Vietnamese citizens and vessels in the context of super typhoon Yagi (typhoon No. 3) strengthening, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang responded.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang at a press conference on September 5 answered questions about citizen protection during typhoon Yagi .
Ms. Hang stated that on September 5, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed an official dispatch directing ministries and local branches to focus on emergency response to Typhoon Yagi (Typhoon No. 3) and to resolutely, promptly and effectively implement the work of preventing and responding to the storm with the highest level of initiative. Furthermore, immediately after receiving the information, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs directed Vietnamese diplomatic missions in China and the Philippines to proactively contact local authorities to create conditions for Vietnamese vessels to take shelter; support rescue and repair of vessels when necessary. At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a diplomatic note to the Chinese Embassy and the Philippine Embassy in Hanoi to request coordination with local authorities, support Vietnamese vessels when necessary and assign staff to be on duty 24/7, promptly support contact with domestic and foreign agencies to respond to Typhoon No. 3.
