Proposal to continue operation of 84 rural water supply works

The proposed rural water supply works to continue operating are distributing and the water quality meets standards.

Based on inspection and assessment with localities, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has just proposed that the city continue to allow the operation of 84 rural water plants that have been invested in by the management unit, upgraded and renovated the water treatment system, synchronous distribution system to consumers; water quality meets standards.

For 19 water supply plants that do not meet standards, the People's Committees of communes and wards will continue to terminate operations, replace water supply sources, complete before December 31, 2025 and finish handling assets in the first quarter of 2026.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the city currently has 200 rural clean water supply projects (159 projects in the eastern region and 41 projects in the western region).

Of these, only 103 projects are still in operation, including 89 completed projects from water exploitation, treatment, and distribution to each water user; 14 projects have been renovated and converted into transfer stations and pressure boosters to purchase water through the main meter for households to use.

Dung Tien 2 Water Plant is being added to the city's water supply planning and will continue to operate in the coming time.

To ensure stable operation for water plants to continue to operate, the city requires relevant agencies to review and specifically update the list of projects proposed to be added to the water supply planning of Hai Phong city until 2040, with a vision to 2050. In particular, it is proposed that water supply projects continue to be invested in and upgraded, and projects be converted into booster stations.
