Proposal for the Indian government to provide funding for the conservation of the A' tower group in My Son.

DNO - On the morning of January 14th, during the visit and working trip to the My Son temple complex (Thu Bon commune, Da Nang city) by the Indian Ambassador to Vietnam, Tshering Wangchuk Sherpa, leaders of the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board proposed several important issues in cooperation for the preservation and promotion of the value of the My Son temple complex.

During the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Cong Khiet, Director of the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board, proposed that the Ambassador request the Indian Government to fund the construction of an information center at the My Son Heritage Site with modern technology, showcasing research and conservation results from projects in groups A, H, K, E, and F, in order to promote and introduce the My Son heritage as well as other Champa heritage sites in Da Nang city, attracting tourists.

Continue funding for the restoration of Group A' after the restoration project of Group EF is completed (Group A', located next to Group A, is in a state of ruin requiring urgent preservation and restoration); organize an international workshop on the conservation, restoration, and promotion of the value of the My Son Sanctuary, and the cultural relationship between Champa and India (scheduled for September 2026).

Supporting the working group from Da Nang city, including the My Son World Heritage Management Board, on a study tour to India to learn about conservation and promotion of world heritage sites; promoting and developing My Son heritage tourism in India…

Expressing admiration for the historical, architectural, and cultural values ​​of the My Son temple complex, especially the conservation and promotion of heritage values ​​in recent years, the Ambassador acknowledged and committed to further promoting the good cooperative relationship between the two countries, especially in the field of conservation and promotion of Cham cultural heritage.

According to Nguyen Cong Khiet, Director of the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board, the visit of the Indian Ambassador to My Son contributes to exchanging and further strengthening cooperation opportunities between India and Da Nang city, especially in the field of preserving and promoting the value of the My Son World Cultural Heritage site now and in the coming years.

From 2017 to 2022, the Indian government provided approximately $2.2 million to help My Son successfully preserve and restore the K, H, and A tower groups. From 2025 to 2029, the Indian government will continue to provide nearly $4.9 million for the urgent preservation of several items in the E and F tower areas of My Son.
