
Specifically, the Cu Mong Tunnel project has a total length of over 5 km. Of which, the Cu Mong tunnel itself is approximately 2.6 km long. In the initial phase, the project will involve expanding the roadbed from 2 lanes to a 4-lane highway, with a design speed of 80 km/h and a roadbed width of 22 m.
The right-hand tunnel, over 2,572 meters long, will undergo road surface renovation and adjustments to the tunnel's equipment system to suit one-way operation with two lanes. The left-hand tunnel, over 2,605 meters long, will have its components completed, including the tunnel lining, cement concrete road surface, drainage system, electrical and mechanical systems, fire protection, and operation.
The existing bridge will be widened from 10.5 m to 14.75 m, and a new bridge unit will be built to the left of the route, parallel to and 0.5 m away from the existing bridges, with a width of 14.75 m (3 lanes); ensuring the overall cross-section of the bridge has 6 lanes.
The project has a total investment of approximately over 915 billion VND from the State budget, including: compensation, support and resettlement costs of nearly 3.7 billion VND; construction and equipment costs of over 605 billion VND; equipment costs of nearly 90 billion VND; contingency costs of over 155 billion VND…
The investment project to complete the Cù Mông tunnel, once finished, will gradually complete the transportation infrastructure according to the approved planning scale; ensure compliance with the Road Traffic Law; guarantee traffic safety; and enhance operational capacity to meet transportation needs on the route.
