Specifically, Zone 1, the central zone encompassing the administrative boundaries of Trang Bom commune, is planned as a multi-functional mixed-use urban area. Zone 2, the western zone encompassing the administrative boundaries of Binh Minh commune and part of Ho Nai ward, is planned as a commercial and supporting service urban area. Zone 3, the southern zone encompassing the administrative boundaries of An Vien commune, is planned as a commercial, service, tourism, industrial, and transit urban area. Zone 4, the eastern zone encompassing the administrative boundaries of Hung Thinh commune, is planned as a commercial, service, and high-tech urban agriculture urban area. Zone 5, the northern zone encompassing the administrative boundaries of Bau Ham commune, is planned as a tourism, service, resort, ecological agriculture, and landscape protection urban area.
The Trang Bom urban area is being studied for planning purposes, covering an area of over 327 km², encompassing the entire administrative boundaries of Trang Bom, Binh Minh, Bau Ham, Hung Thinh, An Vien communes and a part of Ho Nai ward, Dong Nai province.
In terms of population size, it is projected that by 2030, the total urban population will be approximately 450,000 people, of which about 400,000 will be in the concentrated urban area and about 50,000 in the suburbs. By 2045, the total urban population is projected to be approximately 550,000 people, of which about 490,000 will be in the concentrated urban area and about 60,000 in the suburbs.
In terms of urban characteristics, Trang Bom city is planned as a city directly under Dong Nai province, playing a key role as one of the key urban centers in the southeastern dynamic region of Dong Nai province and the Ho Chi Minh City metropolitan area, serving as a driving force for socio -economic development.
Trang Bom urban area is a multi-sector industrial hub, a logistics and warehousing center in the East; a regional entertainment, sports, and ecotourism center connected to the Tri An Lake water resource protection area. At the same time, it serves as a major road and rail transport hub, with high freight transport capacity and convenient connections between the Southeast, South Central, and Central Highlands regions of Vietnam.
