Mr. Ho Van Hang, residing in Gia Gia village, Huong Hiep commune, is regarded by the villagers as a pioneering example of economic development and sustainable wealth creation. He was born and raised in a poor family, constantly worried about not having enough food to eat. At that time, the economic development mindset of the people in the area was limited; they mainly relied on the forest for their livelihood and had not yet found a suitable direction in farming and livestock raising to escape poverty.
Concerned about how to enrich himself, his family, and his village, and to live up to the legacy of President Ho Chi Minh, Mr. Ho Van Hang packed his bags and went to the lowlands to learn about economic models. Thanks to his diligent research, learning, and guidance and training from various associations, he gradually changed his perspective and found a suitable path to develop his economy and escape poverty.
Starting from nothing, Mr. Ho Van Hang now owns over 20 hectares of forest and a family farm raising approximately 30 cows, generating hundreds of millions of dong in income annually. This income level is the dream of many households in the locality. Thanks to his tireless efforts, Mr. Hang was selected as an outstanding farmer in production and business at the provincial level for the period 2021-2025.
He shared: "As descendants of President Ho Chi Minh, now living in peace, we must strive even harder to increase production, reduce poverty, and build our villages to become increasingly prosperous and well-developed."

According to Thai Van Chau, Secretary of the Party Committee of Huong Hiep commune: “Although it is a mountainous commune with many difficulties, thanks to the continuous efforts of the Party Committee, the government, and the people, and the active support of the State, Huong Hiep has made remarkable progress. The changes today are due in large part to the positive role of successful business households.”
In A Bung village, La Lay commune, people often mention Mr. Ho Van Loi because he is a shining example among ethnic minorities for his diligence, hard work, decisiveness in business, and willingness to support and share his experience to help people develop their economy.
The difficulties of the early days of starting the business are countless, but with high determination and the right actions, the economic model of Mr. Ho Van Loi's family has remained stable and continues to develop over the years.
Mr. Ho Van Loi said: "I am honored to bear the surname of President Ho Chi Minh, so I must take even more care to develop my family's economy. Besides that, I must also encourage my fellow villagers to do the same. If I can make sure my neighbors are well-off, then the whole village will be happy."
Ho Van Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of La Lay commune, shared: “The exemplary ethnic minority people who excel in production are leading factors in poverty reduction, contributing to changing the face of our homeland. We encourage, commend, and hope to spread these models to replicate them, in order to develop the local economy and society in the coming time.”
Through the economic development movement, more and more effective business models have emerged. Many Van Kieu and Pa Ko ethnic minority people have achieved the title of excellent farmers and business owners at various levels, with high incomes. During the period 2020-2025, the Farmers' Association of Dakrong district (formerly) selected 50 farming households to be nominated for honor and commendation as excellent farming households.
In the current process of building their homeland and nation, the Van Kieu and Pa Ko people in Quang Tri province remain steadfast in their pride of bearing the surname of President Ho Chi Minh. They have lived, worked, and strived tirelessly to overcome poverty and backwardness, rising to achieve legitimate wealth right on their own land.
