TPO - The "lonely tree" by Rao Quan Hydropower Lake is not only an interesting arrangement of nature, but also becomes a symbol of a Quang Tri that has strongly revived after years of pain and dynamic development, ready to look towards the future.
No one knows since when, on the side of Rao Quan Hydroelectric Lake (Huong Tan, Huong Hoa, Quang Tri) appeared a "lonely tree", stretching out in the sun and welcoming the cool breeze blowing in from the immense water surface, believed to be the source of Thach Han River. |
The "lonely tree" is the sau sau tree, also known as phong huong, or bach giao huong. The tree grows abundantly around Rao Quan Hydroelectric Lake, even creating a bright red forest during the leaf-changing season, but mainly in the northwest of the lake. |
As for the "lonely tree", for some unknown reason it stands alone. Five years ago, the tree was vandalized by bad guys, its bark stripped and its trunk cut deep into. However, thanks to the efforts of the volunteer group to save the tree, along with its strong vitality, love of light and ability to regenerate strongly, the lonely tree has grown green again, blending into the poetic landscape here. |
Not only on weekends, on weekdays, the area around the "lonely tree" becomes a favorite destination for young people. In addition to Huong Hoa youth, tourists from all over the country when visiting Quang Tri all want to "check-in" here. |
Watching the clear blue lake, enjoying the cool breeze and watching the sunset or sunrise are unforgettable experiences. As the young people who are passionately taking pictures here say, "all of it creates a medicine to heal the soul". |
Although there are quite a lot of tourists, the scenery is still quite wild, similar to nearby destinations such as Chenh Venh waterfall, Cu Vo peak, "Tuyet Tinh Coc" lake or the forest after the leaf changing season. |
Besides historical relics and cemeteries scattered throughout, Quang Tri also has a lot of tourism potential that needs to be exploited. |
Known as a harsh land with “Lao wind, white sand”, Quang Tri is also blessed by nature with many diverse scenic spots, from forests, mountains, caves, waterfalls to rivers, lakes, seas, islands… |
The wind power field, which came into operation at the end of 2021 with a total capacity of more than 670 MW, also created a majestic scene at Rao Quan Lake, becoming an interesting cloud hunting and photography spot for many young people. |
All of this shows a dynamic Quang Tri, with much potential and a strong revival after the pain of war, ready to move towards the goal of becoming one of the development driving forces of the North Central and Central Coast regions. |
