Vietnam's textiles and footwear attract buyers at the Global Sourcing Fair - Australia

In the context of many fluctuations and challenges of global trade, in order to increase market diversification and supply chain for the Vietnamese textile and footwear industry, the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia organized a booth to display and introduce products of the Vietnamese textile, fashion and footwear industry at the Global Sourcing Expo, taking place from November 18-20, 2025 at the largest exhibition center in Melbourne. This is also one of the activities to further strengthen cooperation after Vietnam and Australia upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, aiming to bring the trade turnover of the two countries to 20 billion USD in the coming time.

This is an international event connecting global manufacturers with buyers, focusing on the garment, footwear, and textile industries, held twice a year in two major cities, Sydney and Melbourne. This event attracted nearly 6,000 visitors and connections. Nearly 100 buyers came to the Trade Office booth to ask for support in connecting with Vietnamese suppliers. The buyers expressed interest and sympathy for Vietnamese textile and footwear products, especially shirts made from natural fibers, such as bamboo and banana.

In recent years, the export turnover of textiles and garments, and textile and footwear materials from Vietnam to Australia has always had a good growth rate. Thanks to the determination of the Vietnamese Trade Office in Australia in recent times and the initiative of businesses and industry associations, we can now easily find "Made in Vietnam" garment products on the shelves of large wholesale supermarkets such as Costco or retail supermarket systems, large commercial centers in Australia.

Buyers come to the Trade Office booth to connect with Vietnamese suppliers.

Currently, the Australian market trend is towards products with natural materials, environmentally friendly and reducing emissions. Vietnam has textile products made from traditional natural materials such as silk, brocade, cotton, jute, hemp to innovative natural fiber products such as banana fiber, bamboo, coffee grounds, and lotus fiber. Although the market is competitive, with determination, Vietnamese textile products can certainly occupy a large development space in the Australian market.

The current problem is how to proactively source raw materials, invest in trade promotion (enterprises need to proactively participate in large-scale commodity fairs and trade delegations), innovate, build brands, enhance competitiveness and proactively coordinate closely with promotion agencies to update market information. The Vietnam Trade Office in Australia is always proactive and ready to coordinate with businesses and associations to promote and further develop the market.

Continuing to implement trade promotion activities, product promotion, and trade connection to support Vietnamese enterprises in the textile, garment, and footwear sectors in 2026, the Vietnam Trade Office plans to continue organizing a booth at the Global Sourcing Expo 2026 taking place at the ICC Sydney Exhibition Center from June 16-18, 2026.
