A man was swept away by the waves while fishing.

On the evening of December 2, the authorities of Van Tuong commune (Quang Ngai province) were still coordinating with the victim's family to search for the missing man, but had not yet found him.

Mr. Ung Dinh Hien, Chairman of Van Tuong Commune People's Committee confirmed the information that a man from Da Nang went fishing in Van Tuong sea area (Quang Ngai) and went missing.

At about 10:15 a.m. on December 1, Mr. Chau NK (residing in Nui Thanh commune, Da Nang) called some friends in Da Nang to come fishing at the rocky reef area in Nam Cham sea, Tuyet Diem 1 village, Van Tuong commune.

At about 12:15 p.m. the same day, the group arrived at Chau NK's fishing location, but when they arrived, they only saw Chau NK's fishing rod, seaweed, and fishing equipment, but no one was seen.

At first, people thought that Mr. Chau NK went to rake seaweed nearby so they continued to wait. However, after more than 1 hour, they still did not see Mr. Chau NK return, they informed his wife and reported the incident to the local authorities, possibly Mr. Chau NK was swept away by the waves.

Van Tuong commune authorities search for missing victims

Immediately upon receiving the news, the People's Committee of Van Tuong commune mobilized about 80 people including military forces, police, border guards, and village volunteers to coordinate with the Fire Police and rescue forces and the victim's family to search the sea area and surrounding areas.

Currently, Van Tuong commune authorities and local people continue to search for missing victims.
