Because more or less what I have cherished and created should be brought to students, this is truly a very special thing."

Writer Nguyen Luan is 34 years old this year. He was born and raised in Yen Binh commune, Huu Lung district, Lang Son, a land of vast custard apple trees grown on the mountains.
The Lang Son writer came to his passion for writing literature very early. He recalled: "Up to now, the lives of people in my hometown have changed a lot but there are still many difficulties and obstacles. I remember the day I was just a middle school student in the village, I had a strange passion for literature. At that time, there were no smart-phones, no internet, no libraries, and my hometown did not even have electricity. The only things I had were a few old newspapers, some textbooks of older students with printed literary works to read. Those were the first days I entered the world of words, of literary language in such difficult circumstances...".
Nguyen Luan started writing his first short stories when he was in 7th and 8th grade. When he was in 11th grade, he had his first short story published in his hometown's literary magazine. Since then, Nguyen Luan has been writing as an indispensable job, quietly and arduously. For him, "writing is the hardest job to do, and also the hardest to give up".
Unforgettable memories
Knowing that Mr. Nguyen Luan's lesson was posted in the textbook, his grandchildren who are studying the 4th grade program were very excited. They wanted to learn his lesson to show off to their friends because they thought it was very "cool".
Nguyen Luan still remembers another memory about his old teacher, who taught him before and still follows the pages he writes.
"That day, when I went to a training session on the new textbooks, the teacher saw an article with the same author name as mine and immediately called me to "verify". When she found out that Nguyen Luan in the textbook was her former student, she was very happy and wished that one day I would come to her school to talk about literature with the children. That was one of the great joys for me in my writing career", the young writer from Lang Son confided.
