The VUG9 tournament (the 9th season of the Vietnamese Student Sports Tournament) in 3x3 basketball has gone through the regional qualifying round to find the best names nationwide to compete in the national final round in both men's and women's categories on May 27 and 28 in Ho Chi Minh City.

There are 8 men's teams competing in the final round, including Foreign Trade University, Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports, University of Transport, University of Transport Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports, International University - Ho Chi Minh City National University, Vietnam-Germany University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.

Besides, there are also 6 excellent representatives of women's basketball including Trade Union University, Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports, National Economics University, Van Lang University, International University - Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hoa Sen University.

The two teams, Foreign Trade University (the current champion of the northern region) and Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports (the current champion of the southern region) are the two most highly rated teams in the national finals. Both teams had a great journey in the group stage with an undefeated record. The individuals of both teams also played steadily and showed potential energy.

In addition to the two names that are the champions of the two regions, we will certainly still have other extremely excellent names that can be mentioned such as Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports with the core of players who are currently in the youth training centers of VBA teams, even including players who have participated in VBA (Nguyen Van Thang) or University of Transport.

In the women's category, the performance of the 6 teams is more unpredictable as there is no team that is superior to the rest. However, looking at the performance in the 2 regional qualifying rounds, it can be seen that the Trade Union University and Van Lang University will be potential candidates.

In the northern qualifying round, the Union University had a devastating performance when they overwhelmingly defeated all opponents on the way to the championship. As for Van Lang University, although the road to the championship was somewhat more difficult, they demonstrated their ability to defend firmly and tenaciously.

Besides basketball, VUG9 also has many interesting sideline activities, especially the competition expected to be equally exciting - VUG Dance Battle 1ON1 with 40 dancers from universities, colleges and academies. The 2 judges of this competition are dancer Ben Pham and DJ Hanz.
