According to the latest information from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism , during the 4-day National Day holiday on September 2 this year (from September 1 to 4), it is estimated that the whole country served about 2.5 million tourists. The average room occupancy rate at tourist accommodation establishments reached 55%, with the occupancy rate reaching over 60% on September 1 and 2.
Sam Son beach was crowded with visitors on September 2.
Basically, there were no serious incidents or problems affecting tourism activities across the country. There were no price increases, price gouging, or rip-offs or scams of tourists.
According to records, short-term tours and unique experiences attract small groups and families. Across the country, localities have festivals and art events to celebrate the holiday.
Attractive tourism products and entertainment activities have attracted quite a number of tourists to many central areas, typically Ho Chi Minh City is expected to welcome and serve 960,000 arrivals (up 4.3% over the same period in 2022); Hanoi : 640,000 arrivals (up 51%); Khanh Hoa: 503,154 arrivals (up 141%); Ba Ria-Vung Tau: 502,865 arrivals (up 28.26%); Thanh Hoa: 328,000 arrivals (up 26.6%); Da Nang: 254,000 arrivals (up 6.3%); Lam Dong: 120,000 arrivals (up 29.4%)...
Notably, the number of international tourists to key tourist localities has basically increased. Specifically, Da Nang is estimated to welcome 78,900 international visitors; Hanoi is estimated to welcome more than 41,700 (up 83.6% over the same period); Ho Chi Minh City is estimated to welcome 37,600 (up 15%); Khanh Hoa is estimated to welcome 23,450 (up 363.34%)... In which, mainly visitors are from Korean, Chinese, European, American nationalities with a stay of about 4 - 5 nights.
Activities to welcome international tourists to Vietnam are diverse by air, road and waterway. On August 22, the Spectrum of the Seas ship docked at Phu My port (Ba Ria-Vung Tau) bringing more than 4,000 international visitors to visit and experience holiday tourism products, marking the recovery of the international cruise industry in Vietnam.
The National Tourism Administration assessed that domestic tourism continues to recover, international tourism is showing a positive increase, bringing positive signals for Vietnam's inbound tourism season from October.
However, some localities have not attracted the expected number of visitors due to the trend of this year's holiday season, a segment of visitors only choose to travel nearby and travel independently near home, right at their place of residence (staycation, drivecation), cutting down on travel and tourism costs...
For airlines such as Vietnam Airlines, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines... the total number of flights provided during the holiday is expected to be more than 5,300 with a total of 1.6 million seats. In addition, the railway industry has added 30 more trains from Hanoi to Hai Phong, Vinh, Dong Hoi... on the occasion of National Day, September 2.
