The above information was stated by Colonel Do Thanh Tam, Secretary of the Military Admissions Board, Ministry of National Defense at the 2025 Admissions Selection Day, which took place at the University of Technology this morning, July 19.
Specifically, military schools will announce the minimum admission scores and may adjust them depending on the actual situation before July 23. The threshold to ensure input quality this year is expected to be 18 or higher, based on the results of the high school graduation exam.

Also according to the representative of the Military Admissions Board, Ministry of National Defense, although military schools use many admission combinations, most of them have 2 common subjects between the combinations, so most of them will use a common benchmark.
"Except for 3 schools with separate score deviations including Border Guard Academy, Political Officer School, and Cryptography Technical College, the remaining 17 military schools are expected to use a common score for all subjects and methods," Colonel Tam informed.
In 2025, 20 military schools will recruit nearly 4,400 military students. In addition, this group of schools will recruit civilian students again after a 6-year hiatus, with about 3,500 students. Colonel Tam reminded candidates to be extremely careful, to avoid the mistake of wanting to enroll in the military program but registering for the civilian program, falling into the situation of passing and failing.
For the military system, military schools only recruit candidates who meet the preliminary selection requirements and must make a first choice when applying to the school. For the civilian system, candidates do not have to go through a preliminary selection and there is no limit on the number of choices.
This year, military schools will use three admission methods: direct admission, priority admission according to the university admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; regulations of the Ministry of National Defense; admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025; admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam.
13 admission combinations are used, of which 6 combinations are similar to last year, including: A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Math, Physics, English), B00 (Math, Chemistry, Biology), C00 (Literature, History, Geography), D01 (Math, Literature, English), D02 (Math, Literature, Russian), D04 (Math, Literature, Chinese).
The new combinations are C01 (Literature, Math, Physics), C02 (Literature, Math, Chemistry), C03 (Literature, Math, History), C04 (Literature, Math, Geography), D07 (Math, Chemistry, English) and A0T (Math, Physics, IT).
This is also the first year that military schools have converted foreign language certificate scores and added points for candidates with high academic achievements. For English, the conversion level starts from IELTS 5.5 and above. The Military Science Academy also converts Chinese and Russian certificates for candidates applying for the corresponding language majors.
