The minimum admission score for 2025 to a series of top universities in Ho Chi Minh City has decreased by 4 points.

Compared to last year, the 2025 admission floor scores of many universities in Ho Chi Minh City have decreased sharply, some schools have decreased by up to 4 points.

University of Science , Ho Chi Minh City National University has just announced the minimum scores for admission methods.

With the method of considering by high school graduation exam scores, the school accepts applications from 16-24 for a combination of three subjects, depending on the major. In which, the major of Semiconductor Technology and Microchip Design has the highest floor, with the condition that the high school graduation exam math score must be from 8 or higher.

The Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence groups have a floor score of 20, down 4 points compared to last year.

In the method of considering the assessment scores of Ho Chi Minh City National University, candidates need to achieve 600-850/1,200 points or more to register for admission. For Semiconductor Technology and Microchip Design, candidates need to have an average score of 8 or higher in Math in the three years of high school, and when converting the assessment scores to the 2025 high school exam scores, they must achieve at least 24 points. The conversion formula has not been announced by the school.

Immediately after the Ministry of Education and Training announced the graduation exam score distribution, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology announced the floor score. Accordingly, the school applied a floor score of 18 with the admission method of considering 12th grade transcripts according to a combination of 3 subjects. With the admission method of considering high school graduation exam results, the school took a floor score of 15 points. This level decreased by 1-4 points compared to last year, depending on the training major.

With the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test or V-SAT, the school also accepts applications from 15 points (converted to a 30-point scale). For majors in the health group, the threshold to ensure input quality is implemented according to separate regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The University of Finance and Marketing sets the minimum score for all majors at 15 points. For the Economic Law major, candidates need to score 6 points in Math or Literature. This is the lowest minimum score in the past 3 years at the University of Finance and Marketing. In previous years, the school always required candidates to score 16-19 points to be eligible to apply to the school.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance has also announced the minimum scores for each method. Specifically, in the method of considering by high school graduation scores, candidates need to achieve 15 points or more in a combination of 3 subjects. This level is 1-4 points lower than last year, depending on the training major. In the method of considering transcripts, the minimum score is 18. This is the average total score of 3 subjects in grade 12.

With the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's aptitude test and V-SAT, the school's floor scores are 600/1,200 and 225/450 points respectively.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade accepts applications from 16 points, applicable to all majors and programs. Compared to last year, the school's floor score decreased by 1-4 points, falling on some majors of Economics, Services, Law, Information Technology, Languages... The Technology and Engineering group maintains the floor score of 16.

According to MSc. Pham Thai Son, Director of the School's Admissions and Communications Center, the reason is that the high school graduation exam scores of candidates have decreased significantly, especially in Math and English - two subjects included in most admission combinations.

If applying for admission based on academic transcript scores, candidates need to achieve 20 points or more. The minimum score for the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test is 600/1,200, and for Law it is 720. For the specialized competency assessment test of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, the school takes the minimum score of 5/10 points.

Hoa Sen University takes the floor score from 15-17 points for the 2025 high school graduation exam score method; 18 points for the transcript review method; 600 points and 67 points for the competency assessment test score method of Ho Chi Minh City National University and Hanoi National University; 18 points for the interview method with the industry council.

Compared to 2024, the minimum admission score based on high school graduation exam scores of Hoa Sen University will decrease by 1-3 points.
