On May 8th, the Ho Chi Minh City Informatics Association (HCA), in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (SIHUB) and Nim & Partners Communication, organized the 2026 Summer Data & AI Forum.
Data is the heart.
This event is one of the key activities in response to Vietnam Science and Technology Day 2026, aiming to realize Ho Chi Minh City's strategic orientations on promoting science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
At the same time, the forum serves as a "touchpoint" connecting government agencies, the business community, and the startup ecosystem. Through this, it promotes the application of AI data in management and production practices, contributing to creating breakthrough values for Ho Chi Minh City's digital economy .
At the forum, experts argued that in the current era of booming artificial intelligence, the relationship between data and AI has shifted from an "adaptation" phase to an inevitable "symbiosis."
This year's forum focuses on promoting "Data-Centric AI" thinking, transforming raw data resources into standardized and professionally packaged "products."
This is the key for businesses to implement the "exploitation and breakthrough" revolution, providing AI with the necessary "nourishment" to operate accurately. From there, it transforms data repositories into business decision-making capabilities and creates a sustainable competitive advantage in the rapidly changing digital economy.
Speaking at the forum, Mr. Lam Nguyen Hai Long, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Informatics Association, said: Amidst the surging wave of AI, one eternal truth remains: data is the heart.
Digital transformation, or even the AI era, is not a race to see who has the fastest algorithm. It's a revolution of understanding. It's time we stopped viewing data as static files in storage and instead saw it as living entities with their own voices.
"It is the voice of truth, proof of transparency, and the only foundation for AI to avoid becoming 'technological illusions,' and instead become a dedicated partner that brings real value to life," emphasized Mr. Lam Nguyen Hai Long.
Data and AI: A New Competitive Advantage
According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Yen, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, data and AI are becoming new competitive advantages for businesses in the digital transformation process.
Businesses today are no longer just experimenting with AI, but are beginning to apply AI to real-world operations and growth. In the coming period, businesses that master data and effectively apply AI will have a significant competitive advantage.
The forum should focus on three key directions: firstly, building data capacity to optimize the power of AI; secondly, innovation based on the "symbiosis" between Data and AI; and thirdly, building digital trust and technological ethics.
According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Yen, the 2026 Summer Data & AI Forum is not only a space for professional exchange, but also a gathering place for those with aspirations for breakthroughs in solving data infrastructure problems and mastering the power of AI.
