Vietnam Business Forum in Cairo: Trade and investment opportunities within the framework of Comprehensive Partnership was held on December 7 in Egypt.

The forum was attended by Vietnamese businesses on the occasion of attending the Food Africa 2025 Exhibition. The event took place at a special time when Vietnam and Egypt have just officially upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Partnership, opening a new chapter for a period of extensive, substantive and effective cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking at the Forum, Ambassador Nguyen Nam Duong welcomed the presence of a large number of Vietnamese businesses in Cairo; affirmed that the participation of the Vietnamese business delegation at Food Africa 2025 is extremely important, demonstrating a concrete step to promote agricultural trade and expand Vietnam's presence in one of the largest markets in the Middle East - North Africa region.

Vietnam-Egypt relations are a traditional friendship, built on the foundation of political trust and long-term cooperation. The upgrade to Comprehensive Partnership reflects the determination of the two countries' leaders to develop economic and trade cooperation commensurate with their potential.

For Vietnam, Egypt is not only an important partner in North Africa but also a strategic gateway for Vietnamese goods to access the entire region. With a population of over 110 million people, Egypt is a promising market for Vietnamese agricultural products - which are of high quality and competitive value.

According to Ambassador Nguyen Nam Duong, Egypt has recently made strong reform efforts to improve the investment and business environment. The Egyptian government is implementing many programs to ensure food security, expand agricultural processing and preservation capacity, improve trade procedures, and increase the signing of free trade agreements.

The Ambassador said that these are opportunities that Vietnamese enterprises need to proactively grasp to increase market share and develop the market sustainably.

The participation of the Vietnamese business delegation at Food Africa 2025 is of utmost importance.

In the agricultural sector, many key Vietnamese products such as pepper, cashew nuts, seafood, coffee and processed products have gradually affirmed their position in the Egyptian market. However, the agricultural import-export turnover between the two countries is currently less than 50 million USD, accounting for a very small proportion of the total trade turnover of nearly 500 million USD, showing that there is still a lot of room for cooperation.

Notably, Halal-certified products, an increasingly prominent competitive advantage of Vietnamese enterprises, are opening up opportunities for Vietnamese goods to penetrate deeper into the Egyptian distribution system as well as regional markets.

Ambassador Nguyen Nam Duong pledged to continue accompanying the business communities of the two countries, maintaining connection, dialogue and market consultancy programs to turn opportunities of the Comprehensive Partnership into specific projects, contracts and cooperation activities.

Accordingly, the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese Trade Office in Egypt will actively support businesses in the process of market research, providing updated information, connecting with reputable partners, consulting on import-export procedures, and especially coordinating with Egyptian authorities to remove arising difficulties.

The Ambassador affirmed that the success of Vietnamese enterprises in Egypt is the image and reputation of Vietnam in this large region.

Food Africa 2025 is an important platform for Vietnamese enterprises to promote their products, learn about consumer trends, expand their network of partners and affirm the position of Vietnamese agricultural products in the region. With the foundation of the Comprehensive Partnership and the determination of the two Governments and the dynamism and creativity of the Vietnamese business community, Ambassador Nguyen Nam Duong believes that economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Egypt, especially in the field of agricultural products, will continue to grow rapidly in the coming time.

The Ambassador hopes that businesses will achieve many good results within the framework of Food Africa 2025, find reliable partners, expand markets and spread the Vietnamese agricultural product brand in Egypt in particular and the African region in general.

He affirmed that Egypt highly appreciates the capacity of Vietnamese enterprises in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, consumer goods and industrial products - sectors that are in great demand in the Egyptian market and the region.

On behalf of Vietnamese enterprises participating in Food Africa 2025, Ms. Ho Thi Quyen, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade and Investment Promotion Center, thanked the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt for organizing a very meaningful and timely Forum, creating an important foundation for Vietnamese enterprises to make the most of the potential of the Egyptian market as well as the region in the coming time.

At the same time, he hoped that the Vietnamese Embassy would continue to play the role of a bridge between the authorities and the business community; support market information, trade promotion, investment consultancy, especially new support mechanisms to expand the market, increase exports to Egypt, contributing to developing economic - trade - investment cooperation between the two countries to match the Comprehensive Partnership framework.

Food Africa is considered the leading international exhibition for food and beverages in the Africa - Middle East region. Food Africa 2025 will take place from December 9-12 in Cairo, Egypt.
