On November 14, Ho Chi Minh City held a press conference to announce the Autumn Economic Forum 2025, with the theme “Green transformation in the digital age”. Under the direct direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, this forum of Ho Chi Minh City is also special with the attention and in-depth organization of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Promoting the economic capacity of Ho Chi Minh City
Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, also Head of the Forum Organizing Committee - affirmed that with the above theme, the forum takes place at a pivotal time in the national development process and at a time when the world is shifting to a new competitive structure: technological competition, innovation capacity, and green and sustainable standards.
“Any country that is able to master technology, master data, and restructure production in a green and digital direction will have the leading advantage; on the contrary, countries that are slow to change will fall behind,” said Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha.
Accordingly, the forum will be an opportunity for Ho Chi Minh City, after expanding its development space, to demonstrate its ability to transform itself to match the role of a national central metropolis.
The Autumn Economic Forum 2025 will not only discuss green transformation and digital transformation, but will also demonstrate the city’s ability to “implement dual transformation” on a real scale, and in areas where Vietnam can create new competitive advantages.
These areas range from smart manufacturing, low-carbon logistics, digital urban services, to open innovation and piloting new mechanisms.
“The economic scale of Ho Chi Minh City accounts for 1/4 of the country, and the budget revenue accounts for 1/3. Therefore, we must promote our economic capacity to countries, investors, and world businesses,” the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized to Tuoi Tre Online .
