In recent days, prolonged heavy rains combined with floods from upstream have caused widespread flooding in many communes and wards of Lam Dong province such as La Da, Dong Giang, Ham Thuan Bac, Ham Thuan, Hong Son, Ham Liem, Ham Thang and Binh Thuan . Therefore, it has affected people's lives and disrupted the power supply system, forcing the power force to deploy emergency response.
Mr. Phan Sy Duy, Director of Lam Dong Electricity Company, was present at key points in Ham Thuan Bac to inspect and direct the handling work, requiring the management and operation force to give absolute priority to electrical safety, promptly isolate dangerous points and closely coordinate with local authorities to ensure people's safety.

Previously, from the night of December 3 to the morning of December 4, floodwaters rose rapidly in many communes in low-lying areas, combined with the amount of water released from irrigation reservoirs, causing further flooding. Strong floodwaters caused landslides in some locations, damaged electric poles and affected medium-voltage lines in the area.
Faced with the risk of insecurity for people and the power grid, the leaders of Lam Dong Electricity Company have directed units to coordinate with the Ham Thuan Bac Power Management Team to cut off power urgently in areas that are deeply flooded or at risk of incidents. Some areas have temporarily interrupted power supply to ensure safety.
Along with the prevention work, the operation management force organized inspections and closely monitored the scene throughout the flood period. Unsafe locations were isolated, while areas with rapidly receding water levels had their electricity restored promptly to serve rescue work and essential daily activities of the people.

After the floodwaters recede, teams from Lam Dong Power Company will continue to deploy forces on duty 24/7, monitor weather developments and be ready to handle any problems that may arise. Flood damage recovery work will be carried out as soon as the roads and power pole locations are safe to access.
Mr. Le Khac Sinh, Acting Team Leader, Ham Thuan Bac Electricity Management Team said: “Immediately after receiving the company's instructions, the unit mobilized all forces to respond to the flood. All developments were closely coordinated with local authorities to ensure electrical safety for the people, avoiding the risk of electrical short circuits and explosions during deep flooding. Restoring power supply after floods is always a priority, but safety must be put first, especially in areas that are still flooded or at risk of landslides.”
In addition to directing and managing the recovery work, Mr. Phan Sy Duy, Director of Lam Dong Electricity Company, visited and encouraged the staff who were on duty in the flooded areas to overcome the natural disaster. At each destination, the company's leaders acknowledged the efforts of the staff working day and night, and at the same time gave gifts of encouragement to share the difficulties in the harsh conditions.
