Saigon Ward is the central ward of Ho Chi Minh City, concentrating most of the high-rise buildings, major commercial, financial and service centers, playing a leading role in the socio -economic development of the city.
Saigon Ward was formed by merging Ben Nghe Ward, part of Da Kao Ward, and Nguyen Thai Binh Ward (formerly District 1), covering an area of over 3 square kilometers and with a population of approximately 47,000 people.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee headquarters – an architectural work constructed from 1889 and completed in 1909. In 2020, this building was recognized as a National Architectural and Artistic Monument.

Located on Dong Khoi Street, the City Theatre is a central, multi-purpose theatre specializing in stage performances and major events. It is also one of the oldest theatres built in Western European architecture and a popular tourist attraction in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Ho Chi Minh City Post Office was built between 1886 and 1891. This building contributes to the architectural landscape with its unique historical and cultural value in the Saigon ward area.

The Ba Son Bridge is a prominent transportation structure with a modern cable-stayed design. Its stylized Y-shaped arched towers, supported by 56 cable bundles, create an elegant and sturdy structure, connecting Saigon Ward with the new Thu Thiem urban area (An Khanh Ward).

From July 1st, 2025, Saigon Ward will officially come into operation, bringing with it expectations for the development of a regional-scale "super city".
