Fire drills were conducted at two gas stations in Tri An and Tan An communes.

(Dong Nai) - On January 21, the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Dong Nai Provincial Police, in coordination with Tin Nghia Petroleum Joint Stock Company, organized a fire fighting, rescue and relief drill at two gas stations in Tri An and Tan An communes.

The exercise aimed to enhance proactive spirit, combat readiness, and coordinated operations between professional fire and rescue police forces and local fire fighting forces; it also helped participating units understand the characteristics and nature of fire and explosion hazards at petroleum businesses to promptly handle incidents and minimize damage to people and property. Through the exercise, the authorities also assessed the readiness and preparedness of the participating forces for firefighting and rescue operations.

At the Vinh An gas station (Tri An commune), the simulated scenario involved gasoline vapor escaping during the loading and unloading process, causing a malfunction in the anti-static grounding system, resulting in sparks and a fire that injured one worker. The fire quickly spread to the tanker truck and down the pipeline to the storage tank, posing a serious risk of damage if not contained promptly.

At Tin Phat 2 gas station (Tan An commune), a simulated incident occurred during the refueling of a motorbike. Due to negligence, gasoline spilled out, falling onto the engine and exhaust pipe, causing a fire. Panicked, the staff were unable to quickly shut off the pump valve, causing the fire to spread rapidly to the pumps and the entire business area, injuring one employee.

Upon receiving the report, the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 6 quickly dispatched 2 fire trucks and 12 officers and soldiers to the scene, coordinating with the local fire fighting force to implement fire fighting and rescue measures according to the plan. The drill was conducted safely and met the requirements, contributing to improving the effectiveness of fire and explosion prevention and handling at gasoline and oil businesses in the area.
