Adjusting the bus operation plan for the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Horse 2026.

(Dong Nai) - On February 11th, the Center for Public Passenger Transport Management (under the Department of Construction of Dong Nai province) announced: Based on registrations from transport units, the center has compiled and projected the operational plan for bus routes in the province during the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Horse 2026, in order to meet the travel needs of the people.

Specifically, from February 7th to 15th, 2026 (December 20th to 28th in the lunar calendar), bus routes will operate normally as approved by the Department of Construction. Routes 603, 605, and 607 will have reduced services on February 14th and 15th, 2026 (December 27th and 28th in the lunar calendar).

On February 16, 2026 (29th day of the 12th lunar month), bus routes 1, 2, 3, 7, and 8 will be temporarily suspended. The remaining routes are expected to operate until approximately 12:00 PM on the same day. However, based on actual passenger numbers, transport companies may adjust the route closure times and report to the center and bus station management and operation units for coordinated action. During the temporary suspension, each company must deploy at least two buses at both ends of the route to promptly serve any unforeseen travel needs of the public.

On February 17, 2026 (the first day of Tet), bus routes 601 and 603 will operate with reduced frequency; the remaining routes will be temporarily suspended, but at least two buses will still be stationed at both ends of the routes to serve passengers when needed. On February 18 and 19, 2026 (the second and third days of Tet), bus routes 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 8 will continue to be temporarily suspended, but vehicles will still be stationed at both ends of the routes. Routes 601 and 603 will operate with reduced frequency; the remaining routes will operate normally according to the approved decision.

From February 20th to 26th, 2026 (the 4th to 10th day of the Lunar New Year), routes 603, 605, and 607 will have reduced services; other routes will operate as normal. Route 16 is expected to add 4 more trips per day from February 13th to 26th, 2026 (from the 26th day of the 12th lunar month to the 10th day of the Lunar New Year) to meet the increased travel demand.

Currently, Dong Nai province has 20 bus routes in operation, including 5 subsidized routes, with a total of 256 vehicles and a frequency of over 1,000 trips per day. With the number of vehicles and a specific operational plan, the province's bus system basically meets the travel needs of people during the Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Horse 2026.
