What made Miss Huong Giang choked up with emotion

Miss Huong Giang was moved when looking back on her 10-year journey with the HIV community. She hopes to contribute more voice, calling on society to have an equal view, reduce discrimination and accept them.

The event Live fully 2025 recently took place at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House. The program was organized to respond to World HIV/AIDS Day , aiming at the theme of the Action Month "Unity is strength - Joining hands to end the AIDS epidemic".

This year's event has many accompanying artists such as: People's Artist My Uyen, runner-up Anh Vuong, Dao Hien, Truong Qui Minh Nhan, Phuong Anh Idol, designer Sy Hoang, director Ngoc Duyen...

Miss Huong Giang has spent 10 years accompanying activities for the community living with HIV organized by the Ho Chi Minh City HIV/AIDS Prevention Association.

She was emotional when looking back on the past journey and at the same time hoped to contribute more in the future.

As a transgender person, Huong Giang understands better than anyone that this community is still more or less discriminated against. If they have HIV, they will have even more difficulties and so need everyone's help and support.

"During my time as an artist, I have always been involved in community projects. After returning from the Miss Universe competition, I find this mission even more important," Huong Giang shared.

Miss Huong Giang has 10 years of experience working with the HIV community.

Huong Giang said she is always aware of her responsibility to the community to be worthy of the love people have for her.

"Although life has many obstacles, I take strong steps to conquer my dreams, I hope everyone does the same. Together we will move towards a more diverse, inclusive and equal world," the beauty queen shared.

Huong Giang commented that Living Fully is a meaningful event, also an important milestone that gives strength and confidence to many people.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of HIV presence in Vietnam, an opportunity to look back at the achievements and lessons learned from the process of HIV/AIDS prevention.

At the same time, this is an opportunity to call for the initiative of the entire community to continue participating in HIV/AIDS prevention work, contributing to the sustainable maintenance of activities...

Exhibitions, displays and seminars are held within the framework of the event.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Phong - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City HIV/AIDS Prevention Association - said that the event aims to: Change social awareness (Transform the view on HIV from negative to positive, full of hope); recognize and honor individuals and organizations that have contributed in the 35-year journey; connect the community (create a space for exchange, share experiences, and inspire people living with HIV and their companions); raise awareness and reduce stigma; set new goals, discuss creative and sustainable solutions to end the AIDS epidemic in Vietnam.
