The information was announced by the spokesman of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, at a press conference.
According to AFP news agency, an earlier statement from the Israeli military stated that the targets included "buildings, vehicles and infrastructure that house threatening missiles, ballistic missiles, launchers and drones".
Earlier in the day, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said: "Today we have neutralized tens of thousands of missiles and precision munitions… This has been the most difficult week for Hezbollah since its founding - the results speak for themselves."
AP news agency updated the latest provisional statistics of the Lebanese Ministry of Health , saying that IDF attacks on southern Lebanon on September 23 killed at least 492 people and injured more than 1,600.
This is the highest daily death toll in nearly a year of cross-border conflict.
Speaking at a meeting with military generals at the IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv after the largest airstrike yet, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the country would “change the military balance on its northern border.”
“I want to make clear Israel’s policy. We do not wait for an attack, we anticipate it. Those who seek to harm us, we will inflict greater damage. I am committed to changing the security balance, the military balance in the North,” he stressed.
Cross-border fighting between Israel and the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon has lasted nearly a year, following the outbreak of war in the Gaza Strip in October 2023.
On the same day, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned Israel's "destructive plan" and called on "the United Nations, the General Assembly and influential countries... to stop this Israeli action".
