The 33rd SEA Games will officially open tonight (December 9) at Rajamangala National Stadium (Bangkok), kicking off the big sports festival in Southeast Asia.
In addition to watching exciting competitions, fans are also interested in buying souvenirs of the 33rd SEA Games.
Not counting Chonburi or Chiangmai, host country Thailand has opened 11 souvenir stalls in Bangkok to help fans, athletes and media conveniently buy souvenirs.
These souvenir stalls are located at the main competition venues and shopping malls in the large Siam shopping district.
In addition to shirts, pants, hats, key chains, phone card straps, water bottles, the main souvenir of any SEA Games is the funny mascot chosen by the host country as a representative. This year, host Thailand chose a mascot named The Sans for the 33rd SEA Games.

Each mascot has its own shape and color such as green, blue, pink, yellow and red. All are meant to represent the unique personality, unity and cultural diversity of Southeast Asia; at the same time, it has a friendly and easily recognizable look.
However, with a selling price of 750 baht (about 620,000 VND) for a mascot, buyers seem to be quite hesitant because of the high price and the design is not really eye-catching like previous SEA Games.
But the most expensive souvenirs are the thermos bottle at 799 baht (660,000 VND) and the handbag at 790 baht (652,000 VND).
Other items that are also quite expensive are dolls priced at 690 baht (570,000 VND), baseball caps at 599 baht (500,000 VND), t-shirts at 550 baht (454,000 VND), long elastic pants at 499 baht (412,000 VND), drawstring backpacks at 325 baht (268,000 VND). However, these are best-selling items.
The two cheapest items are a plastic fan at 89 baht (74,000 VND) and a key chain at 69 baht (57,000 VND). They are also popular because they are cheap and easy to give as gifts.
