On the morning of May 16, a private source said that at around 1:15 p.m. on May 15, at Km339 on National Highway 32 in Bo village, Ban Bo commune (Tam Duong district, Lai Chau province), an accident occurred between a pickup truck of Than Uyen district police and 5 other vehicles.
Accordingly, at the time of the collision, the Than Uyen District Police pickup truck with license plate 25A was driven by Lieutenant BHT (officer of the Traffic Police - Order Team of Than Uyen District Police). The police car collided with a truck with license plate 25C parked on the side of the road, then continued to collide with 4 motorbikes of the people.
The accident did not cause any casualties, two cars and four motorbikes were slightly damaged. The authorities tested Lieutenant T. (with witnesses) for alcohol levels and determined that there was no violation.
Through checking and extracting camera footage, the speed before the accident was determined to be about 40km/h.
Initially, authorities determined that the cause was that Lieutenant BHT did not control the steering wheel, leading to the traffic accident.
The traffic accident is currently being handled by the Traffic Police Department of Lai Chau Province.
