The delegation also met with the Mayor of Nanao City, Mr. Chatani Yoshitaka. At the meeting, Consul General Ngo Trinh Ha expressed his sympathy for the losses caused by the earthquake to the city's people, and announced that relief goods had been sent to the Vietnamese and Japanese communities in Ishikawa Prefecture.
The Consul General wishes to learn more about the situation and specific needs of the Vietnamese community and local people to plan further support.

Mayor Chatani Yoshitaka expressed his gratitude for the delegation's support and affirmed that he will make every effort to overcome the consequences of the earthquake to soon bring people's lives back to normal. He said that Nanao City has had many cultural exchange activities with other countries and hopes to have more exchange activities with the local Vietnamese community and with Vietnam.
During this working trip, the delegation met with a number of agencies and unions in Ishikawa province and initially established a coordination channel to receive aid for people affected by the earthquake to continue implementing the support plan in the coming time.
Ishikawa Prefecture was hit by a major earthquake and tsunami on January 1. According to statistics, there are about 5,000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Ishikawa Prefecture, of which about 600 were affected by the earthquake.
Immediately after the earthquake, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka instructed Vietnamese associations and businesses in the area to establish a fundraising committee to support the victims and quickly implement a relief plan, demonstrating the solidarity and mutual love of the Vietnamese community in Japan.
