On April 3, the Supervisory Delegation under Decision 2034-QD/TU dated January 29, 2024 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, headed by Comrade Tran Minh Luc, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, had a working session with the Party Committee of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DONRE) on the results of leadership, direction and organization of the implementation of Resolution No. 12/NQ-TU dated December 30, 2021 of the 14th Provincial Party Executive Committee on the Climate Change Adaptation Program for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. Attending were comrades of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Tran Minh Nam, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Chamaléa Thi Thuy, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department and Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Implementing Resolution No. 12-NQ/TU, the Party Committee of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment promptly issued an action program to specify the targets and objectives of the resolution. Departments and units under the Department have developed plans and organized the implementation of key tasks on environmental protection and climate change; to date, 3 irrigation reservoirs and 6 hydroelectric reservoirs have been installed with automatic online monitoring and supervision systems, 5/11 water treatment works have completed the installation of continuous automatic monitoring stations, Cai River water sources are always monitored, managed, supervised and maintained to meet type A surface water quality standards; over 95% of communes, wards and towns organize waste collection. Regularly coordinate with relevant agencies and localities to monitor and provide information on the development of natural disasters to units, localities and people to grasp and have timely response measures; Strengthen inspection and management of waste discharge activities for agricultural, food and textile processing factories in the province.
After listening to the assessment of the achieved results, some causes of difficulties and limitations in implementing Resolution No. 12-NQ/TU and comments from members of the Supervisory Delegation, concluding the working session, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested the Party Committee of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to review and comprehensively re-evaluate the targets and objectives implemented in the past time; at the same time, propose solutions to continue raising awareness, adaptive capacity and resilience to climate change through promoting propaganda activities to cadres, party members, civil servants, workers in agencies and in the community and enterprises. Focus on reviewing the sector's plans related to climate change in sync with the province's general plan; organize advice for the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to issue programs and projects on climate change for the period 2025 - 2030 that are appropriate and meet practical needs; innovate and improve the effectiveness of attracting resources to serve climate change adaptation work. Strengthening the application of science and technology, digital transformation in the management, exploitation and effective and sustainable use of water, land and mineral resources, etc.
