According to the Prime Minister, Lang Son and Cao Bang are border provinces with very important positions in politics , economy, culture, national security and defense, foreign affairs, poverty reduction and conditions to become rich. However, the provinces still have bottlenecks, especially in transportation and high-quality human resources. Emphasizing the spirit of "having united, we must unite even more", the Prime Minister hopes that the Party Committee, government and people will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, especially when facing difficulties and hardships, "help each other in times of need".

The Prime Minister also noted that the province should do a good job in poverty reduction, the emulation movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, complete the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area by 2025 and the emulation movement to build 3,000 km of expressway. The Prime Minister hoped that people would continue to support the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway project to soon complete the project as planned, contributing to socio-economic development in the area. In addition, authorities at all levels need to continue to help poor households and families in difficult circumstances to rise up to have a better life with the spirit of "leaving no one behind".

Strengthen foreign affairs, promote trade, improve law enforcement in border areas and border gates, build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developing border, contributing to strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and China “both comrades and brothers”.

Lightning fast completion of 2 highways connecting Lang Son - Cao Bang

On the same day, the Prime Minister inspected two expressways Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) and Huu Nghi - Chi Lang (Lang Son), invested in the form of public-private partnership (PPP).

The project started construction in April 2024, and has so far cleared 67% of the site, striving to hand over 100% of the site by the end of December 2024.

Of which, the Dong Dang - Tra Linh project has a total length of 121 km, divided into 2 phases with a total investment of more than 23,000 billion VND. Phase 1 invests more than 93 km, with a total investment of 14,114 billion VND, of which the budget capital accounts for more than 69%. Phase 2 will continue to invest the remaining nearly 28 km. After completion, this expressway will shorten the travel time from Cao Bang to Hanoi and vice versa from 6 - 7 hours to about 3.5 hours.

The Huu Nghi – Chi Lang project is 60 km long, with a total investment of more than 11,000 billion VND. Of which, the budget capital participating in the project is 5,495 billion VND; the investor's capital arranged is 5,529 billion VND, the implementation period is from 2024 to 2026.

Upon completion, the project will connect the Huu Nghi – Coc Nam – Tan Thanh border gates (Lang Son) to the economic centers of Hanoi – Bac Giang – Bac Ninh, and connect to seaports in the Hai Phong – Quang Ninh area.

At the following meeting, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang agreed with the investment plan for phase 2 of the Dong Dang - Tra Linh project under the PPP form, in which the budget supports 70% of the total investment, and the investor arranges the remaining 30% (similar to phase 1).

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the two expressway projects of more than 150 km in length are very important to connect the two provinces, connect the Red River Delta, the capital region with the northern mountainous region. Connecting the expressway from Cao Bang - Lang Son to Hanoi, connecting the expressway from North to South to Ca Mau cape contributes to achieving the goal of having at least 3,000 km of expressway nationwide by 2025 and 5,000 km of expressway by 2030; at the same time, connecting internationally with China, opening up a very large new development space.

In particular, two projects must be completed quickly in 2025, contributing to the opening of the expressway from Cao Bang to Ca Mau this year. “There must be a breakthrough in infrastructure to achieve double-digit economic growth each year and to complete the two 100-year goals set,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

On the same day, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Tran Cam Tu attended the National Great Unity Festival at the residential area of ​​Trung village (Dong Phuong commune, Dong Hung district, Thai Binh).

On this occasion, the Standing Secretariat and leaders of Thai Binh province and Dong Hung district presented gifts to residential areas and policy families, poor households, and households in difficult circumstances in Trung village.

Also on November 14, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien attended the National Great Unity Festival - Military-Civilian Cultural Festival at Dinh Cao residential area (Dinh Cao commune, Phu Cu district, Hung Yen).
