Over the years, by studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh , the people in the province have fostered a spirit of solidarity and cooperation, contributing to the successful achievement of the goals and tasks of building new rural areas.
During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh affirmed, "Unity, unity, great unity. Success, success, great success." This statement conveys a message about the power of unity; the role of national unity in the struggle for national liberation as well as in building and developing the country. Following Uncle Ho's teachings, over the years, the people of the province have continuously strived and united to successfully achieve socio -economic development goals, most notably the joint effort to build new rural areas.

The story of solidarity in Lung Phay - Khuoi Na village, Chi Minh commune (now That Khe commune) is a prime example. In 2023, the government initiated a plan to build a concrete road through the village. Mr. Hoang Van Doan, Party Secretary and Head of Lung Phay - Khuoi Na village, said: To secure land for the road, meetings were held from the commune to the village to inform the people. After understanding the plan, the villagers showed great consensus and unanimously agreed to donate land, trees, and crops to facilitate the road construction.
Accordingly, the villagers collectively discussed and donated 12,000 square meters of land for the road. Mr. Hoang Van Trong, a villager, recounted: "When we learned about the road construction plan, we were initially quite hesitant. But then we discussed it together, analyzing the long-term benefits for our children. Seeing the common good, everyone agreed to donate land. My family alone donated nearly 3,000 square meters along with 1,000 trees of various kinds. Now, looking at the wide road, I see that the greatest benefit is the unity and cooperation of the households."
Similar to the situation in Lung Phay - Khuoi Na hamlet, the people of Quan Thanh hamlet, Chi Lang commune, are also actively contributing to the construction of new rural areas. Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong, Secretary of the Party Branch and Head of Quan Thanh hamlet, said: "In implementing the program to build new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas, the Party branch and the hamlet's Front Committee have propagated, mobilized, and promoted the spirit of solidarity among the people in the hamlet to jointly implement the criteria. From 2021 to the present, the people in the hamlet have contributed over 120 million VND and hundreds of days of labor to build roads, a cultural house, a waste incinerator, and trim trees... As a result, the infrastructure in the hamlet has been continuously strengthened; the hamlet's appearance has become brighter, greener, cleaner, and more beautiful."
Not only the two villages mentioned above, but in recent years, people in other villages and hamlets throughout the province have actively joined hands and contributed to building new rural areas, demonstrating a spirit of solidarity. Specifically, in the period 2021-2025, people in the province donated nearly 500,000 m2 of land, contributed over 563,000 man-hours of labor along with materials and cash to implement the criteria for new rural areas… with a total value of over 413 billion VND.
In addition to contributing labor, money, and land, the people also unite and regularly participate in monitoring the implementation of infrastructure projects; support each other in developing production; actively participate in cultural, artistic, and sports activities; and build a healthy living environment...
Mr. Nguyen Huu Chien, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, said: "The unity, solidarity, and joint efforts of the people and the investment resources of the State have made a significant contribution to building and strengthening the infrastructure system serving socio-economic development and promoting production development..."
Specifically, during the period 2021-2025, the entire province constructed over 1,700 km of rural concrete roads; planted nearly 110 km of flower-lined roads; built nearly 1,500 household waste treatment incinerators; constructed nearly 1,000 new toilets meeting regulations; built 307 new village cultural houses along with many other infrastructure projects; and supported the construction of 865 production development models and projects under national target programs… These achievements have made a positive contribution to the results of building new rural areas throughout the province. By the end of June 2025 (before implementing the two-tiered local government model), the entire province had 106 out of 175 communes meeting the new rural area standards, including 28 communes meeting advanced new rural area standards, 10 communes meeting model new rural area standards, with an average of 15.21 new rural area criteria met per commune in the province.
After implementing the two-tiered local government model, the province now has 65 communes and wards, including 61 newly established communes. Immediately after their establishment, the Party committees and governments of these (new) communes continued to focus on disseminating information and mobilizing the people's participation in achieving the targets and criteria of the New Rural Development program. The people have been contributing their labor and resources to the program. From the beginning of 2026 to the present, people throughout the province have contributed over 200,000 man-hours of labor, donated land, and contributed money to jointly implement targets and criteria related to transportation, irrigation, and the environment. This has contributed to creating momentum and enthusiasm for the province to achieve the goal of having 5 communes meet the New Rural Development standards in 2026.
Imbued with President Ho Chi Minh's ideology of unity, the people of all ethnic groups in the province have continuously strived to contribute to building new rural areas, aiming to achieve the greatest goal: improving material and spiritual lives and making the rural landscape increasingly prosperous, beautiful, and developed.
