Doan Quoc Dam is eager to enter the Southern cinema industry.

The actor compared himself to "a fish in water" when he had the opportunity to act in an action movie that matched his passion in the project "Searching for Ambergris".

The film by director Duong Minh Chien was officially premiered to the audience on the evening of November 11, in Ho Chi Minh City.

The event was attended by the entire film crew including the producer, director and main actors: Doan Quoc Dam, Quang Tuan, Ma Ran Do, Nguyen Thao, People's Artist Thanh Nam, artist Quoc Nam, Ngan Quynh, Hoang Toc Dai... Many artists from Vietnamese showbiz also came to congratulate the crew.

For the first time participating in a film project of Southern producers, Doan Quoc Dam received a lot of attention. Especially, when his character in the film - Cuong Lieu, belongs to the villain line with quite interesting colors.

He said that when acting, he rarely pays attention to the character's appearance, but only cares about whether he can "carry" the character's soul. He admitted that his looks are only average, so making himself a little ugly is not a big deal.

During the filming process, he tried his best in terms of psychology and emotions as required by the director and crew. At the premiere event, Doan Quoc Dam also brought a surprise to the guests at the event.

The Quest for Ambergris tells the story of the journey to find the sacred treasure of the brothers Tam (Quang Tuan) and Tuan (Ma Ran Do), accompanied by Ut Linh (Nguyen Thao) and Hoang (Hoang Toc Dai). From a chase driven by greed, the group of characters gradually realizes the true value of family love, neighborly love and loyalty. The film is imbued with the breath of the sea, where people still maintain their faith in the sacred amidst the storms of life.

According to director Duong Minh Chien, he and his crew hope to bring an "absolutely entertaining" film to the audience at the end of the year.

The film has special screenings on November 12 and 13 before its official release on November 14.
