Due to adjustments in the host country's organizational arrangements, many events have had changes in accommodation, causing certain difficulties for the Vietnamese Paralympic team in their preparations. However, the advance team surveyed the new locations and proactively coordinated and worked with the Organizing Committee on all details to ensure the best possible conditions for the Vietnamese athletes .

In addition, the delegation also planned the personnel arrangements for the Flag Raising Ceremony and the Opening Ceremony. According to the plan, 30 representatives from the Vietnamese Paralympic Team will attend the Flag Raising Ceremony at 6:00 PM on January 17th, and 50 members will attend the Opening Ceremony.
In an interview after arriving in Thailand, Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department and Head of the Vietnamese Paralympic Team at the 13th Paragames, shared: "Overall, the team's morale is very good and they are ready for the upcoming competition days. Regarding competition goals, the Head of Delegation stated that the Vietnamese Paralympic Team has set a target of winning 30-35 gold medals and ranking among the top 5 teams at the 13th ASEAN Para Games. Although the Organizing Committee has cut approximately 50 events, including sports where Vietnam excels such as Athletics and Swimming, the team still has high expectations for results in Weightlifting, Chess, Table Tennis, and Badminton.
"Preparations for the Games have been underway and well-organized, including the selection of athletes, domestic and international training, physical fitness and tactical skills testing, as well as the preparation of competition equipment, medical services , and logistics. Each athlete has a training plan tailored to their specific sport and disability category to ensure they are in the best possible condition for competition," added Ms. Le Thi Hoang Yen.
Ms. Yen also noted that, in addition to objective difficulties, the next generation of athletes in the region is very strong, therefore requiring athletes to make greater efforts in training and competition.

On the afternoon of January 16th, the leaders of the Vietnamese Paralympic team visited and inspected the accommodation and training locations for each sport to directly assess the situation and provide timely guidance. Basically, all sports in the Vietnamese Paralympic team have been provided with convenient accommodation, relatively close to the competition venues.
In addition, the host country's organizing committee adjusted the meal arrangements for athletes and coaches as soon as they noticed any inadequacies or received feedback. Although training venues had not yet been arranged, the athletes proactively practiced exercises at their accommodation, utilizing available space for physical activity.
The 13th ASEAN Para Games will take place from January 20 to 26, 2026, featuring 19 sports and 536 events. The Vietnamese Paralympic team will participate with 185 members, including over 140 athletes competing in 11 sports: Athletics, Swimming, Weightlifting, Badminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Judo, Boccia, Archery, Wheelchair Tennis, and Wheelchair Fencing. This is a carefully selected and intensively trained force, ready for the exciting competition days at the Games.
