Overview of the departure ceremony for the SEA Games
According to the schedule, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation will be divided into groups departing from 3 locations: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang with a total of 113 members leaving on December 7, bringing the total number of teams going to Thailand to 16.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department, Head of the delegation Nguyen Hong Minh affirmed that the Vietnamese Sports Delegation participating in the 33rd SEA Games with 1,165 members, including 842 athletes, 189 coaches, 19 experts, will compete in 47/66 sports, with a total of 443/573 events.

The 33rd SEA Games, held in Thailand from December 9-20, is the largest sporting event in the region, where athletes will continue to affirm their will, courage and fighting spirit for the national flag.
This year's Games will have 50 official events with a total of 569 sets of medals, held at 3 locations: Bangkok, Chonburi and Songkhla. In addition, the 33rd SEA Games will also organize 3 demonstration events: discus throw, tug of war, and air sports. These 3 events have a total of 12 sets of medals and are not included in the overall results of the Games.
