The ceremony was attended by the Director of the Vietnam Sports and Physical Education Department, Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet, along with representatives from the leadership of Vietnam Airlines , representatives from various departments and divisions of the Vietnam Sports and Physical Education Department, coaches, athletes, and delegation officials.

Overview of the send-off ceremony for the SEA Games
According to the schedule, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation will split into groups departing from three locations: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. A total of 113 members departed on December 7th, bringing the total number of teams that have traveled to Thailand to 16.
In Hanoi , the Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department and Head of Delegation, Nguyen Hong Minh, along with 81 members, departed on the morning of December 7th. These included delegation officials, coaches, and athletes from the Cycling, Canoeing, Swimming, Jet Skiing, Sepak Takraw, and Gymnastics teams.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department and Head of Delegation Nguyen Hong Minh affirmed that the Vietnamese Sports Delegation participating in the 33rd SEA Games consists of 1,165 members, including 842 athletes, 189 coaches, and 19 experts, competing in 47 out of 66 sports, with a total of 443 out of 573 events.

Deputy Director of the Vietnam Sports Department and Head of Delegation Nguyen Hong Minh delivered a speech at the ceremony.
"The entire delegation is setting off with the highest determination, carrying within them the will, enthusiasm, and spirit of Vietnam to overcome their limitations and aim for the highest achievements. The delegation will carry the will in their minds, the fire in their hearts, and the strength from within, overcoming their own limitations and demonstrating the Vietnamese spirit when competing, as advised by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the departure ceremony, to achieve the highest results and bring glory to the Fatherland," emphasized Head of Delegation Nguyen Hong Minh.
The 33rd SEA Games, held in Thailand from December 9-20, is the region's largest sporting event, where athletes will continue to demonstrate their willpower, courage, and fighting spirit for their country's flag.
This year's Games will feature 50 official sports with a total of 569 medals, held at three locations: Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla. In addition, the 33rd SEA Games will also include three demonstration sports: discus throwing, tug-of-war, and aerial sports. These three sports have a total of 12 medals and are not included in the overall medal tally of the Games.
