The Vietnamese sports delegation attending the 33rd SEA Games has 1,165 members, including 842 athletes, 189 coaches, and 19 experts competing in 47/66 sports, participating in 443/573 events.
Under the leadership of delegation leader Nguyen Hong Minh, 81 members set off this morning, including delegation officials and teams: cycling, canoeing, swimming, jet skiing, sepak takraw, gymnastics...

Speaking at the farewell ceremony, Head of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation Nguyen Hong Minh emphasized: "In just a few days, the 33rd Southeast Asian Games - SEA Games will officially begin in Thailand. This Games is not only a regional sports event; it is also a place where the will, mettle and aspiration of Vietnamese sports are tested and shine.
Every Vietnamese athlete entering the SEA Games arena is entering a journey to compete for the flag, for national pride and for responsibility to the Fatherland.

With the goal of continuing to affirm the position of Vietnamese sports in the region, and at the same time preparing for the 2026 ASIAD and the 2028 Olympics, the requirement is to build a strong and in-depth athlete force; deploy training in a systematic and scientific manner; ensure full logistics and medical conditions so that athletes are ready to compete with the highest spirit and determination.

Before leaving to compete in the largest Southeast Asian Games, the delegation members were fully informed of the regulations and discipline in living and competing.
Coordination plans with the 33rd SEA Games Organizing Committee and the Vietnamese diplomatic representative agency in Thailand have been prepared to ensure safety, security and communication for the entire delegation during the Games.
At this SEA Games, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation aims to maintain its position at the top of the region.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Minh added that in addition to focusing on Olympic and ASIAD sports, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation is also aware of its responsibility in spreading the image of a young, dynamic and aspiring nation.
