On November 28, the Vietnam Sports Administration ( Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism ) coordinated with the Vietnam Olympic Committee to organize the departure ceremony of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation to attend the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33) in 2025 in Thailand. This year, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation participating in the 33rd SEA Games has 1,165 members. Of which, there are 191 coaches; 841 athletes competing in 47 sports and disciplines. The Vietnamese Sports Delegation aims to achieve 91 to 110 gold medals, aiming to maintain its position among the leading groups in Southeast Asia.
At the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh wished the Vietnamese Sports Delegation to set out with determination, confidence in victory, and noble sportsmanship, striving to achieve the highest results at the Congress, achieving and surpassing all set goals, continuing to write golden pages of Vietnamese Sports history, bringing honor and pride to the people and the Fatherland.
The Prime Minister stressed that the SEA Games is not only the largest sports arena in the region, where top athletes from various countries compete, but also a common festival demonstrating the qualities, will and spirit of the nations, contributing to strengthening the solidarity and traditional friendship in ASEAN.

"The goal of achieving the highest possible results, while also carrying a great mission, is to unite, learn, and exchange within the ASEAN community - with a noble, impartial, pure sportsmanship spirit and compete with all our might. We demonstrate the growth and maturity of Vietnamese sports; demonstrate the image of a Vietnam that is innovative, friendly, disciplined, humane, and full of aspirations" - said the Prime Minister.
The Head of Government emphasized that the noble sportsmanship spirit is the spirit of never giving up, overcoming difficulties, surpassing one's own limits for the sake of the flag and the uniform. That spirit is also the indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people throughout the history of fighting for independence and building and developing the country, or proactively preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

The Prime Minister hopes and believes that the Vietnamese Sports Delegation, coaches and athletes participating in the SEA Games will bring that spirit of overcoming difficulties, unyielding will and courage to each race and each match and achieve the highest results, so that the red flag with the yellow star flies high in the regional arena, bringing glory to the Fatherland.
To have an elite squad in the sending-off ceremony, the Prime Minister said that each athlete, each coach and expert has gone through a long journey of hard training, overcoming their own limits and accepting silent sacrifices; asking each officer, coach and athlete to fully realize their responsibility to "compete with all their might, surpass themselves" but absolutely respect their opponents, respect the referees and respect the audience.
"Millions of hearts of domestic sports fans are turning to the Vietnamese Sports Delegation, coaches, athletes and placing all their trust, hope and belief in victory in you. With the "red flag with yellow star on the chest", we believe that the Vietnamese Sports Delegation will promote the highest sense of responsibility, Vietnamese bravery, Vietnamese will, Vietnamese spirit, Vietnamese people and as "yellow star warriors" will compete bravely, compete gloriously, bringing glory to the fatherland" - the Prime Minister emphasized.
