Guessing children's intelligence through observing their hands

Characteristics such as finger length or hand structure can help parents identify their child's thinking ability and development potential from an early age.

When children are very young, because their ability to express themselves is not strong enough and their ability to absorb knowledge is relatively small, it is difficult to assess whether a child is intelligent or not through conventional "testing" methods.

However, related studies have found that whether a child is smart or not has a lot to do with "hands".

Why can observing hands identify smart children?

According to research published in the American journal Developmental Psychology, children with symmetrical hands often have higher intelligence quotients than children without this characteristic.

In this study, Ian Deary - Professor of Differential Psychology at the University of Edinburgh (UK), former Director of the Center for Cognitive Ageing and Cognitive Epidemiology (CCACE) at the University of Edinburgh, and colleagues used a digital scanner to measure the symmetry of the two hands in 856 children aged 4 to 15. They also assessed the reaction speed of the children participating in the study through computer intelligence tests.

The results of the study showed that children with evenly developed and symmetrical left and right hands tended to have faster reaction times in tests. Scientists confirmed that even after adjusting for age and gender, the results remained the same. This shows a strong link between body symmetry and intellectual health from an early age.

Experts believe that body symmetry, including hand symmetry, may be a sign of biological health and is closely linked to many aspects of health. Previous studies have found that in adults, body symmetry is linked to brain function (intelligence). For example, men with facial symmetry have a lower risk of cognitive decline in old age.

Dr David Hope, an expert at the University of Edinburgh's Centre for HealthEducation , said the findings showed that there was an important link between cognitive ability and health. From an early age (even kindergarten), physical activity is associated with human health, which then reflects on the brain's thinking function, which in turn affects human intelligence.

Signs that your child is born intelligent

In addition to hand symmetry, there are a number of other body signs that have been studied and shown to be related to children's intelligence and development.

Bright, alert eyes

The typical characteristics of intelligent children are clearly shown through their eyes. If a child has a pair of bright, black and spirited eyes, he or she is certainly very intelligent and clever. The child will also have a higher imagination and creativity than others.

At the same time, according to physiognomy, a child with big bright eyes often has a lot of luck in life. Has a prosperous appearance, is rich and is the pride of the family. In the future, the child will also easily succeed in fields related to art such as painter, architect, fashion designer, graphic designer, etc.

High forehead

The ancients believed that a high, full forehead was a characteristic of intelligent and blessed people.

A high forehead also shows that the brain develops early and has a higher IQ than normal people. People with a high forehead often have quick judgment, good observation skills, and often achieve much success in the future.

Smile often

When children are young, they are very prone to crying. However, when teased but the child responds with a smile, this partly shows that the child is intelligent.

Children use smiles to interact with adults, proving that their brains are working very well. When brain thinking is trained, children's ability to react will also improve.

A child born with innate intelligence is very lucky. However, this factor does not determine the child's future. If properly educated by parents, a normal child will gradually improve his IQ.
