On November 14, a delegation of officials from the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Ho Chi Minh City press and publishing house, in coordination with the Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, visited and presented gifts to officers and soldiers of Dam Thuy Border Guard Station and people of Dam Thuy and Dinh Phong communes (Cao Bang).

At the meeting, Mr. To Vu Ninh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dam Thuy commune, expressed his gratitude for the delegation's kindness. He said that in recent times, thanks to the consensus of the army and people, Dam Thuy commune has always focused on maintaining national border sovereignty and ensuring security and order in the border areas of the Fatherland.

The commune currently has 33 hamlets, of which 19 are in extremely difficult conditions; the people are mainly Tay ethnic people who still live on agriculture and face many hardships. The recent floods have caused severe damage to the entire crop area, directly affecting the livelihoods of the people.

Along with the task of protecting the border, Dam Thuy commune is orienting to develop tourism to become a tourist center of Cao Bang province, building infrastructure at famous landscapes in a sustainable direction, preserving traditional cultural identity.

Sharing at the meeting, Mr. Tang Huu Phong - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee - expressed his joy at the achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of the two communes have achieved.

He shared his emotions when he and the delegation from Ho Chi Minh City visited the land at the head of the Fatherland, especially Pac Bo - a special national relic site closely associated with the revolutionary period of President Ho Chi Minh when he returned to directly lead the Vietnamese revolution.

According to him, this is an opportunity for those working in propaganda and journalism in Ho Chi Minh City to show gratitude, learn and strengthen their responsibility in the journey of preserving and spreading revolutionary values.

Within the framework of the program, the delegation offered incense at the Pac Bo special national relic site and visited the place where President Ho Chi Minh founded and directed the publication of the Vietnam Independence newspaper.

The delegation also performed the flag-saluting ceremony at Milestone 836 on the Vietnam-China border, expressing national pride and spirit towards the frontline of the Fatherland.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City delegation presented Dam Thuy Border Guard Station and the people of the two communes with 500 national flags, 100 warm coats, a bookcase of Uncle Ho; presented 50 scholarships to poor students and those in especially difficult circumstances; supported 30 policy families and disadvantaged families, and 20 gifts to households affected by storms and floods.

The total value of gifts on November 14, including cash and gifts, is more than 200 million VND.
